As someone responded, Gilbreath is gone way before Markway.

Isn’t Dibert the kickoff specialist ?
Yep, that's him. But he is not nearly as good as Atkins? was a few years ago doing the same function. And when Dibert got knocked out of a game last season, Ramos IMO kicked off better than him. Dibert kicked too many times out of bounds and unless the coaches told him to change up the distance, his distances were very inconsistent. Kick the damn ball down the middle of the field into the end zone...problem solved.
Of course, I don't think he has a snowball's chance of ever playing in the NFL but his only longshot would be to transfer to another school and see if he could be the FG there.

He’s trying to say Sampson will hit the portal?
Posted on 4/15/24 at 11:45 pm to Tiger2tiga
Not necessarily. But someone from that WR room will and it's likely that people will be bummed, especially those who follow recruiting and think just because they get highly rated, they are going to be stars.

Sampson could reunite with Fertita at FSU

I'm assuming the players have Spring exit interviews this week with at least their position coaches if not BK? I don't know that for a fact, and not sure if that's something that's always been done, but with the spring portal window it certainly seems like it would be good for both the players and the staff to re-evaluate their roles/vision for their future in the program again after spring practice. I'm sure it's changed for a few guys in the past 3 1/2 months.

I don’t get why that would suck. I feel we have 7 guys who are better.

Go through my posts if it goes that far back but I called Kyle Parker also.
I guess I’m as smart as Lester…oh wait

I bet you are exactly right. After spring practice finished and the portal was about to open, there should be conversations between coaches and players. BTW, that is the right thing to occur for both parties involved. The coaches need to let the players know what their future looks like. The vast majority of players don't want to be stuck at the bottom of the depth chart.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see Collins fitting in here.

I agree with you, but realistically, he could stick around this year and learn a bunch from a good QB coach as he's the #2 guy currently (maybe that changed after spring game) and transfer out to a smaller but better school after the season. If he goes now, his reps are limited OR he has to go to some really small Southern Ms type spot.

I like how Kelly handles this process. Like a grown up… Not a mass exodus after the spring game.

Collins leaving now would be foolish. He has a ton of eligibility left, Hurley is like 14 years old, and Underwood hasn't signed on the dotted line. Our QB room is not deep.
And to your point, we have great offensive coaches and he's one injury away from the spotlight. If he's using his brain, he waits until after the season (or NSD) to make a move, if that's his plan. He might relish the competition, we don't know.

Sampson had three attempts at the spring game but the throws were near impossible to gauge "what he is." But Langlois and Ibeta look obvious and maybe a kicker. Burrell vrs Dilbert (who is a fine kickoff man) but what is Burrell? I imagine at least one DB other than Langlois will leave. ... It will be interesting.

Burrell is going to be a true freshman. Not even sure if he is on campus yet. Why would he transfer?

That makes three now, right?
Gilbreath
Prean
Howard
We still need at least 2-3 more
