More Attrition Coming - Before the Melt

With Howard leaving, we are at 88 scholarships. We need to add at least 1-2 DT at a minimum so that means we NEED 4 or 5 more guys to hit the portal.
If you look at the roster, we are heavy (numbers wise) at:
A. Safety - 10 players
B. Corner - 10 players
C. Wide Receiver - 12 players
D. Linebacker - 8 players (remember we mostly will be a 4-2-5)
All this to say, you are going to see some fan favorites and guys many fawned over during recruiting announce they are out in the coming weeks. Just know this sadly HAS to happen. And unless they are a starter or major contributor, no one should be crying. Especially if a big name WR recruit announces.

He’ll play very sparingly again this year. We’re two deep 3WR looks and he’s not in it. And that’s before the freshman class of WRs show up

His time here is so odd. True freshman getting game reps and now he's somehow fallen back to 3rd team.
I still personally think he's a huge piece (if not WR 1) in 2025, but afraid he's gonna bail before then.

I mean with the portal and how these players just up and leave teams, I have no issue with these guys getting "processed".
Hell, players just up and leave now for NIL, there is 0 loyalty.

The cream always rises to the top, even though we had great hopes for Sampson being THE GUY. Hopefully he stays a Tiger, but if not, we'll be just fine. And I'll wish him well...

See, why would that suck? Has he played? Is he in the top 6 WRs in our room?
Tough decisions have to be made - do you want an SEC level starter at DT or a highly rated (maybe overrated?) WR recruit who is talented but seemingly not "aligned" enough to do the things needed to get on the field and is unlikely to contribute next season?

Are you joking?
Everyone on here said that. Parker was extremely polished as a senior in high school. Sampson was just going up for jump balls.
