Now if he doesn't make the grades, he gets placed...just like he would have at LSU!! Except LSU left a bad taste in his mouth so when he becomes eligible, he plays for Saban

That's a HUGE assumption that Saban will be at Bama in 2011.

To let this kind of size and speed for a defensive lineman go out of state is crazy, this ain't J McKnight this kid wanted to play for LSU. While i Will take Miles OL prospects over saban. When it comes to defense it is a whole different game AND SABAN KNOWS HE GOT A GREAT ONE

he might be a great prospect but if he doesn't have the grades then not worth the spot....

i'd rather have a 3 star contributor than a deangelo benton signed everyyear...

first of all ,all reports say he has the grades.Bama does not have much room either with only 20 to 22 schollies to give, but if there is one thing Satan knows and that is defense, and DS was just to good to pass up,big strong fast DL or hard to find. And the sad part is he wanted to be in P&G

Favorite, Alexander, Pittman, Tyson, Tre. Johnson, and potentially RJF all are gone after this year. Wouldn't call that log-jammed.
Log jam has nothing to do with who's leaving, it's who's staying: Woods, Nevis, Hagans, Edwards, Aubrey will all be back at DT, and Alem, Pep, Aghayere, Corley and Clement will all be back at DE. And that's not even counting Davenport and Brockers who have already committed. Just because we're losing guys at a position in January doesn't necessarily mean we have to replace them in February; counting on true freshmen to replace departed seniors is not a good recipe for success. Strong recruiting (like Miles has done) has already replaced the guys we're losing this year. The 2009 class should be more about replacements for the guys we'll be losing after next year, or the next.

Someone on this forum said that he needed to increase his GPA by .2

If this is his cumulative GPA, he would have to increase his senior year GPA by .8. I have a hard time thinking that if he has struggled to get a 2.5 through his first six semesters, he will get a 3.3 in his senior year, even if he has extra motivation.

He could also try to increase his ACT by 2 points, but that can be difficult for some players. It took Toliver six months to do it, and it appears Benton still hasn't been able to do that and is now trying to increase his cumulative GPA.

The people who get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to evaluate talent think otherwise.....But I'm sure you know better.

There are about 5,000 kids in the state of Louisiana who want to be in the purple and gold. shite happens.

Amazing how LSU is in the midst of arguably their greatest recruiting class ever, yet some people go fricking apeshit over something like this.

Enjoy the ride. Quit being such miserable frickers. Time will tell if we missed out on a good one. How about we let the kid finish high school, actually make it to college, and see if he pans out, before saying Miles dropped the ball on this one.

Yea, Les missed on that one also. Isn't he in the thick of things in the Heisman race. An his team won the NC last year, and this year, they are undefeated. People were right, we sure could have used him. One player always makes a team.

We sure are lacking at depth on the front D-line, we can only rotate like 10 players, whats up with that? Then they go and move Barksdale and Blackwell. You have to wonder whats going on with this staff.

Who would that be? and who decided that was the case?
Wasn't RP a "great recruit"?
Miles apparently wants the whole package not just the rankings. Let the other guy sign the rest of 'em.

You mean like Charles Deas?

What about Powe at Ole Miss? Isn't he like 35 and they are still waiting to qualify him?

Listen their is no doubt Sentimore is a tremendous talent but unfortunately for him, LSU has limited scholarships and a list of interest from players just as good or better than Sentimore.

Congrats Bama hope he makes it. What LSU is probably thinking is this kid will go Juco and maybe when he makes his grades we grant him a scholarship.

He knows where home is. We aren't insulting him.

What I wonder is Les has only 7 LA recruits this year. He should always recruit at least 50% LA. This kid was a top 12 in the state, a must recruit. You take care of your own state first then everything will fall in place.

While I agree you want to lock up the state, I also think you get the best players you can and do what's best for the program. While it's a stocked year for La., it's apparently stocked everywhere else too.
