I think he's our next commit

Some quotes from him about LSU

quote:

"I know all three of their linebackers will be gone after this year because two of them are seniors and one is a junior (Kelvin Sheppard) who has a chance of getting picked high in the league," Taylor said. "I'll have a chance to come in right away and compete for a spot and that's all I've asked for.

quote:

"With the talent they're bringing in I know they're going to win something," Taylor said. "I think they're going to be national champions soon. That's just the vibe I get from them."

not a bad guess with LSU being his top committable team.

Does that excite you recruiting gurus? I'm just curious, I don't know anything about him.

Sounds like he wants to wait into the season, which makes me think that he won't be our next commit.

Looks like a very strong list of offers. How can you determine that some would be uncommittable?

Talented player with a lot of upside potential...very green and raw...good speed.

IMO I would rather have Shaun Lewis. Lewis seems to have better instincts...better nose for the ball and knack for busting up plays. Speed and size looks similar for both guys.

Still I like Taylor and wouldn't be bothered if he were a part of the class. Just with one more LB spot, I would prefer Lewis if I had a choice.

This is pretty much how I feel.

But I don't see a huge gap between Lewis and Taylor, so I wouldn't really complain.

I'll have to watch some more film on both of them.

Taylor is a stud no doubt, but I agree with you guys, given the choice Id take Lewis first.

Taylor looks to be a strongside or middle lb, which we seem to have plenty of in this class whereas Lewis is the type of speedy lb that we really need.

That said, I think Taylor commits to Miami and Im sure we get Lewis either.

Both of their films are pretty good. kind of a toss up. Both would be great.

I'm not counting Telvin Smith out of this mix yet either.

lynx, now that you are back on TSD, I want a full breakdown on all of these guys this week.

I'm like yall in that I have Lewis over Taylor. That Youtube video of Smith was impressive though, but I haven't seen anything of him besides that.

Based upon their camps, it looks like Taylor is bigger and also a good bit faster than Lewis. He measurered less than 190 I think and ran like a 4.86. What would he run at 220?

I'll write an evaluation soon--does that count?
