Linebacker from Mandeville High (now at Penn State). How did we let this guy get away from us? Penn State is known as "linebacker u", how did we not sign him? Did we not want him or did he just want to go to Happy Valley?

wrong!!! this kid is a monster. my brother is good friends with him and at one point my bro told me that mauti said if we offered he would seriously think about staying home to play. however, we went with prater who looks ok but i have seen a lot of this kid and know how good he is. he did love penn state mainly because of his position coaches but we never even looked at him. HUGE mistake in my opinion. his dad told me about a week ago that he was in the 2nd group as SS but with sean lee going down he would probably be moved back to linebacker.

LSU was never high on his list, I think he made it pretty clear early on that he had no interest going there.

I agree with you Pilot. Met the kid several times. Great kid but didn't see any mutual interest. No big deal.

Unbelievable. I just told you that he SAID that if LSU offered he would have SERIOUSLY considered playing here. You have no idea what you are talking about.

LSU on Mauti's List

Hey Trust, I don't trust you on this one. My sources and I have some very good ones since I'm from Mand. also back my statement up not yours.

That's funny since my brother has been really good friends with him since 10 yr old traveling baseball. I don't know who your talking about "sources" but I would take my brother over any of your sources. Trust me. My brother and I were working out with him all last summer and he talked about talking with Urban Meyer, text messages from Bob Stoops, etc. Trust me I know.

Don't get me wrong...the kid was probably gonna go to Penn State anyway. All I'm saying is that its ridiculous that we didn't even look at him and if we did, then he would have "seriously thought about playing at home". Take it for what its worth.

so what if he would have seriously considered LSU if offered, he wasnt offered and even if he was, chances are he still ends up at Penn St. because his dad and bro went/go there, and Penn St. has a great reputation with linebackers

he probably is good enough to play at LSU but LSU didnt want him and didnt feel like fighting Penn St. for him

just out of curiousity Trust, did Mauti attend any LSU camps?

if not, that is probably the reason they never looked at him

and if so, that is probably the reason the didnt want him

Like I said, You got your sources, I got mine.Mine are pretty close to the horses mouth so to speak.Beside this point, MM is a great kid. I wish him all the luck. He will fit in great at PSU and he made the right choice for himself.

I went to school with him, played ball with him and i am a friends of his and his brother. Diff was waiting on us to offer or show more interest. It was between lSU and Penn all the way. He is much better than Pratt by the way.

Much better is a stretch. They performed pretty equally in the Army All-American week.
