Heard from a very reliable source that Worley is close to committing. He is a draft risk however. Same source believes he will turn pro FWIW.

Worley is a lefty from Stony Brook that previously pitched at JUCOs in Texas and California. He's originally from St Louis, went to a really small, expensive private school, which makes him a bit of an outlier for going the JUCO route.

Has a ton of experience at the collegiate level though. Has also pitched in a few summer leagues.

Amarillo stats

Modesto stats

Baseball Reference

I'm guessing he got a redshirt for his junior year at Stony Brook. Really put it together this season. Looks like he was originally a Mizzou commit at one point.

So you're telling me he's no Todd Peterson?

93 K's in 69 innings is pretty damn good at any level. Seems like he's got some wipeout stuff?

Any chance he follows Beaty's example and withdraws his name from the draft?

I’m guessing, based on Kurland doing it, the idea has been brought up that if he’s going to commit it might be good to do that, but who knows.

I could be way off on him being about to commit like I was with Brady Waugh too. It’s gotten way harder to figure this stuff out.
