Watched Hawkins play a couple times. He is an incredible passer for a post player. Really like his game.

Hawkins is 17th overall on EvanMiya and has a great BPR of 6 and his BPM is 9.5. Both of those are about double the best player from last year. The only bad thing is he is a senior, so we’d only get him for 1 year. I still think he would be a take, but who would we process?

He's absolutely a take. Instantly the best player on the roster

Seems to be similar to Tari Eason three years ago when he signed.

Go to a school where you are the best player on the team and you can also enjoy some good football games. Seems like LSU is a no brainer.

Interesting development. The roster is (to the extent we know) full and the team is on campus participating in summer workouts. The fact they are still recruiting a guy for this season seems to suggest they may have doubts someone on the roster now will be eligible.

Don’t think there are any doubts . When a player that is as good and impactful as Hawkins wants to visit , you get him on campus and figure it out how to make it work if he wants in . It’s a no brainer

Sounds like the guy is worth it. Just gonna raise some eyebrows when you have a 12 scholarship limit and sign 14 guys.

Why give him a scholarship? Pay for his tuition via NIL

I believe that is the plan Tiger. However I'm not sure we have the NIL he is wanting in addition to covering the tuition. 2 weeks ago, when he withdrew from the NBA draft his agent told teams he was looking for an NIL package in the same ballpark as what Great Osobor received with Washington which was reported as $2M per year.

Both players are similar ranked (#14 vs #17 overall in the portal), both are 3-4 year experienced PF's with good game, Hawkins consistently played against harder competition in all 4 of his years and is slightly taller and more well rounded, but not as strong down low as Osobor. So I guess that is why the agent is asking for what he is.

Sit him down for the ‘22 LSU-Bama highlights. Then show him the home schedule of: USC, UCLA, Ole Miss, Alabama and Oklahoma. Ask him where else he can watch that kind of football this fall a few feet from his dorm.

Don’t believe it! “Projected 2nd round pick” that’s about 100 players.
