Then get out the thread, man. What is your point? I could tell you it’s sunny outside but you will go and find a cloud and say “ehhh”. So you are saying for those of us with any hope we are wrong

Yes. They were the best two returning players and the best returning defenders. Their athleticism and defense have not been replaced in the portal as of now. In fact, the current roster projects to be significantly worse on defense next season.

This is so hilarious to me

Some of you are going off “data” and not actually watching the product on the floor. We were absolutely awful on both sides. We needed an overhaul. V Miller going to Okie State who sucked and Chest…well he’s made visits and those teams have moved in different directions. This team on paper is already ahead of last year.

We do need another scoring/athletic wing

Okay that’s cool and all but what LSUButt is saying is this is a transfer portal prospect thread. If you wanna provide insight or analytics for why you believe a prospect will/won’t work out for us that’s fine, but no reason to be filling up the thread with McMahon hate.

Fyi- Mazi Mosley on ESPN2

Prolific Prep is getting WRECKED. He is a very willing passer and unselfish. He can’t contribute next year but I would love to hang on to him for a couple years

We could get Auburns exact team and they would think we would suck

Doubtful we would have their record or anything close but man speaking of auburn, Kelly is exactly the type of player we need.

Pretty sure you meant Juice Hill. He never adjusted to Baton Rouge and was pretty depressed. Even his ft's were down significantly, but bounced back the next year. Not everyone adjust to Baton Rouge well.

And I will agree that Dean and Hannibal were pretty good for us.

You can't evaluate transfers from small schools based on highlights and stats. No coach is doing that. They are all using advanced analytics and predictive stats. Does the eye test sometimes win out? For sure.

I like Thomas a lot as a scorer. However, he does not predict as well as Cook did when Cook transferred in from Tulane. Cook never assimilated to the SEC. Will Thomas pan out better? I hope so.

In the end recruiting is still a gamble and that doesn't really change for players transferring up in competition.

Also, I still think Lsu would be better next season with Chest & V Miller and that the current roster lacks athleticism and defense. Getting Washington from A&M would have been huge for next seasons team.

Cook's problem wasn't his ability.

Yeah cook talent wise was the best player we got under Matt McMahon

He just was screwed over by the 2 time transfer rule and then getting suspended towards the end of the season

People discredit cook but we were a legit team with him as the PG

Just admit some of yall are here to derail the thread in protest against the coach

There’s a half dozen or so that do exactly that. You see them in every basketball thread spouting the same shite. It has really gotten tiresome.

Dioubate is in the portal. 6'7" 215 SF from Bama. Supposedly looking for a starting job. Do we go all in on him?

I don’t think they are relying on advanced metrics and predictive stats as much as you imply. A part of the picture for sure but just one part of many

I would. This team is lacking in high end talent.

I really don’t think so, but it’s subjective.
I think KJ and Carter were better.
