I live in Ga and a local High school I’m close to plays against Max this Friday. I may try to go watch him. But I am curious as to what made him choose LSU. Athen Ga is right above Watkinsville. Did Ga not pursue him enough. Just curious

They fired Mark Richt, who I think is his godfather. But he also committed to LSU when Richt was Miami coach. I guess he loves O.

Vol can shed more light but apparently a very similiar reason that Joe chose LSU.

Max is Brad Johnson’s son who was an NFL QB.

They can see through the bullshite and they see the opportunity that LSU presents. Slinger, O and Brad sat down. Rest is history.

Could you imagine going from the surrounding cast that he has now to LSU? Rags to riches. For those who don’t know- Max’s high school team is absolute garbage.

LSU is going to have some nice options at QB with Max and TJ coming in. I expect those two to really push each other. Can't wait to see it play out.

Of course, Caleb Williams is sitting out there and who knows what happens if he chooses LSU?

Johnson committed before anyone even knew who Joe Brady was.

As for the OP's question, I think Georgia had a couple of other guys rated ahead of Johnson and they weren't pushing as hard as we were.

He didn’t mention anything about Brady. He said Brad.

It’s so hard to really get an idea of how good a recruit is from a highlight reel, but it’s easy to see that Max has great form. Not surprising since he’s had a former nfl QB mentoring him since birth. Is it fair to say that Johnson has a very high floor while Finley has the higher ceiling?

Looks like he had 5 passing TDs tonight, a single game best for him.
