Baldwin was a much more accomplished prep QB than Parrish or Finley. He had that ability to actually complete passes.

What about Johnson? He wasn't more accomplished than Johnson? Is Johnson more accomplished than Parrish and Finley? What are you basing that on?

I expect Matthew Baldwin to end up at a school closer to his hometown of Austin, Texas. Maybe not IN Texas necessarily, but in that region of the country.

Y’all got LSU out of this tweet?

He’s transferred to TCU as if this morning or yesterday

Does anyone know if Justin Rogers is healthy?

I wonder if he regrets the decision to not come to LSU? He would more than likely be in a battle with Myles for the starting spot next year

He wasn’t that great and we have QBs coming in. No reason to push these guys adide for a QB that wasn’t very good to begin with.

Then why is he transferring instead of starting?

I’m not saying he’s terrible, but he obviously isn’t a game changing QB.

We also need to learn how to develop our own QBs and not have to rely on picking up a transfer.

So you're not a big Joe Burrow fan either I take it.

Not in exact order but from what I know off the top of my head.... Garrett Gilbert > Michael Brewer > Baker Mayfield > Matthew Baldwin > Hudson Card. Every one of them was offered as a D1 QB. Unreal success for a single high school.

Then why is he transferring instead of starting?

Because he just finished his freshman season, and it probably was a pretty rough year?

Let's see...
The coach he committed to got suspended the first three games amidst a national media domestic abuse shite storm.

That same coach battled some sort of health issue that clearly affected him during games and drew more media scrutiny.

Then the coach somewhat abruptly retires and might have been forced, or at least pressured, into doing so.

Then they replace that coach with a guy with no head coaching experience.

Then the #1 rated QB from Baldwin's recruiting class transfers in. Apparently Baldwin and Fields were competing for the starting spot, and even though Day didn't name a winner, maybe the writing was on the wall.

I mean, he might have transferred because of his playing ability, but that's definitely not clear, or the only possible reason.

Obviously? How is it obvious? How many QBs are game changers their freshman year?

Nothing against Baldwin but I would prefer to not upset the applecart. Parish plus 2 out of King; Johnson; and Finley should be fine. I want to see LSU recruit and develop our own qbs. Just my .02

Our last 2 QBs to be drafted were transfers. Our last two starters have been transfers from the Big Ten.

I say we keep sticking with what’s working.

Although I am a Joe Burrow fan (think he’s gonna do great this year) I wouldn’t quite say it’s been working our great or anything I would definitely have more confidence if we’ve actually shown we can develop QB’s consistently or at least put in a system to have system QB’s
