Just a guess but this seems like a combination of senior film evals and an opening created by a coaching staff change.

Looks like he's setting OVs to the schools he interested in. LSU on Jan 12th, the day the dead period ends.(Dec 18-Jan 11)

What position would he play. He has offers from OU and Georgia etc

This would be a nice get

I think he is Anthony Cooks back up plan. Cook is signing early so we should know soon.

Curious with limited spots left we are looking at new people.
Something doesn't add up here unless the coaches know who will commit and who won't at this point.
Which leads to the next question, who aren't we getting?
Contingency plans.

Not saying he is same caliber player, but the late in the cycle entanglement with LSU reminds me of how we wound up with Jamal Adams-Esque.

it also looks like the coaches are going after recruits committed to schools with new coaches

This is exactly the plan for Cook if he chooses Texas

Goodrich is a take regardless. He is good. I do not see him as a backup plan. Do any of you really think that they would have turned down Goodrich if he committed immediately after being offered? He is being pursued because he is good.

The writing is on the wall re: cook. Everyone just downvotes with their head in the sand. Goodrich is clearly his replacement.

This is LSU lining up their post early signing period plan. Not bad to get in on a kid of this caliber in December and already have him mentioning you as one of his top schools.

It seemed like we had cook in the bag. Someone mentioned texas cooled on cook. I guess that wasn't true.

Nobody is in the bag until they sign, but the CBs have been all Texas since October.

I agree. He is the #4 athlete and looking at his tape he definitely looks best at CB. He reads plays and reacts well. Does very well in run support, sheds blocks and tackles aggressively. Good size and range. If you go by ranking score he's at .9505 which is a high 4*. I think you find a way to make room for this kid if you can.

doubtful, he isn't an early enrollee. No reason for him to commit until after the 20th, and his OV is set up for after the dead period.
