The whole atmosphere has changed. You have college administrators whoring themselves out to get coaches who whore themselves out to get kids who have their hands out, palm up.
When I saw a middle aged white coach trying to break dance in the locker room so 18 yo black kids would like him? And he didn’t care that they were laughing at him…stick a fork in me. I’m done.

I can’t wait for the first college player that has an all American or Heisman year go into the portal to the highest bidder.

Then the current school would have to outbid everyone to keep him.

What’s to stop this from happening?

Where have you been? It's happened quite a few times this season.

Its headed toward a minor league separate from Academics.

Many kids are going to lose opportunity as schools shut down sports. It will be men's sports, not women's because of Title IX.

NIL should benefit all 85 players, not just the stars.

Why? NIL should benefit the players who provide the value. if the 57th guy on the roster provides no value, then why should he benefit? If the 2nd guy on the roster provides massive value, why shouldn't he see proportional benefit?

I take it you are a socialist, politically?

I am in my middle 50’s, so I have been an LSU football fan for nearly 45 years. I cannot tell you how disappointing it is to watch institutions buy the best recruits. Sure, it was happening somewhat under the table but now it is open access to the big booster schools.

I really don’t want to follow this kind of amateur Athletics any more. I’m afraid LSU doesn’t have much of a chance going against larger endowment type universities. Was paying players an inevitability?

I’ll watch and cheer for the Tigers but this whole NIL BS isn’t a level playing field. It wasn’t a level field before but now it is an arms race that will spiral out of control.

Well to be fair, that reality tv star was a better president than the lifelong politician we currently have.

No player is that important to a program

This is college football, subjected to free enterprise.

It's hilarious how the number of people on this site who say they love free markets don't really love free markets when market forces dictate who locks down which recruits, who has the biggest bag to bag the best players and coaches, and value placed on goods (players) that are transferred and who has the money to buy them.

You don't love free enterprise. Stop telling that lie.
