This player reached out to our staff after the SEC championship game saying he wants in. He was written off because it is not a position of need and they thought his recruitment was done, but he is a big enough game changer they will take one extra at the position.

I THINK it means that they are "committed" but a bigger recruit (or one they'd prefer) needs that slot, so the school tells the kid they need to look elsewhere.

What throws me off about this is that Vol has been predicting them processing Major for weeks now.
If this CypressTiger guy is correct, this new recruit wasn’t part of the plan until a few days ago. That would mean Major is processed for someone other than the CypressTiger rumor.

Which kind of sucks if the kid really wanted to come here, but that's the game you have to play if you want to stay top tier. Lots of good players are going to have to go elsewhere, but as long as your are bringing in the top players, and they actually pan out, it all works out.

Processed basically means that a commit has been asked to look elsewhere. The term became associated with Nick Saban who always refers to "the process" and is known for recruiting in this manner.

I'm sure it's all fluid. The DB that decommitted yesterday was a surprise so the slots that are open and who is going to fill them isn't set in stone.
Recruiting predictions get shite on all the time, but you have to remember that these kids can change their minds at the drop of a hat, and with so many outside influences around them ("momma wins in the end"), it's like predicting the weather. You can only go by what the kids tell you and hope it sticks.
