He was interested in LSU but we said no thanks. What do you want from him?

I sure hope we get a few more DB's added.

After the injury to Todd Harris, we were thin at Safety and young at CB.

LSU dialed up Major Burns last night and said they would not be able to send paperwork next week for him to sign. He wants to still potentially be a mid-year enrollee so he's looking around at some other options. Burns is a really good player and great kid and student. Tough news, for sure. That said, it just came down to numbers here. I don't expect them to use the spot on another CB or they would have just kept Burns. - Shea

Le sigh, premium info shared on a free board

At least you gave credit word for word who said it

That's a pretty silly thing to be scared about. Bama does this all the time.
No they don’t. It’s rare to process kids of this quality

You guys really don't understand UGA having appeal?

Their last three bowl games are going to be Sugar Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl, and on top of that Athens is a nice city. Yeah, real mystery there.

That's far better than us before this year yet you guys want everyone to come here.

So was Burns actually processed?

Sounds like it, to some extent. Vol said he was a surprise though, IIRC.

Athens is a lot better than Baton Rouge. Unfortunate but true

Not better enough to get destroyed by LSU and not win a national championshipship.

Top ten rated player at his position in our own backyard. This is not sitting well with me, if he was processed I hope we see the results tomorrow.

Honestly, you're already seeing the results. They're called Derek Stingley and Cordale Flott, most noticeably, as well as Radar Jones and Jay Ward.

Since the idea is that they aren't replacing Burns with another CB, it means they feel comfortable with only adding Ricks to last years haul.

LSU was at 25 commits. If Burch drops LSU for cutting ties with a commit then Burch would have to be as dumb as a brick. How else can room be made for him???

Major sure is salty. The 247 article about him committing to UGA shows it. He praised aTm alot about his recruitment, but didn't once say anything about LSU

The coaches know they're putting their own arse on the line by processing these kids. I would imagine they have reason to believe these moves are necessary and beneficial.
and don't forget there's Sage Ryan and Kaine Williams next year.

You recruit on a 2 or 3 year plan, with young DBs and some good one's coming, it just isn't a priority to land anyone but the top guys this year.

If faced with that predicament, you go for a position of greater need (this year) or lesser supply (next year).

ETA: case in point example...
Except for Case Ancelet gaining a lot of strength and mass, I don't see any OTs on the LA horizon next year. So do you let Burns sign and not wait on Crawford's grades knowing Williams (and others) are on the horizon? No, you let that spot stay free for a 'known surprise' or a Crawford (and see where grades end up).

I know his mom pretty well.

He was committed to the Aggies but after his father died he committed to LSU to be closer to home/her.

LSU processed him a couple of weeks ago so now he is going elsewhere.

It sucks because he is going to be a good one.

I hope folks on here don’t bash him because he is a good kid and would absolutely stay in state if LSU hadn’t pulled his offer.
