We need more linebackers, especially with Sampah and Webb leaving.

I’d feel better about their predictions if they spelled *Mac* Markway’s name correctly.

Agreed. Imagine they will get two in the portal.

Jones and Baskerville will be the only one's gone.
There's Perkins, Penn, Weeks, Tolan, and the transfer from USCe.
There's also the likelihood of just 2 LB on the field for the most part anyway.
Lot's of stand up DE and DC luz him some Safeties that function as LB's.
The word "hybrid" is gonna get bandied about by those both in the know and clueless.

I was wondering if/how many of the EDGE guys we have in this class would play a stand up role in the defense. I think you’re right; pure LBs may not be as necessary in House’s scheme as they were in Aranda’s.

Two of those three are now very likely gets. Rickie decommited from Purdue this morning, and the TE just got his offer a few days ago. Harbor is the only one that no one can be confident about right now, but people around the program seem to feel like we’re in a good spot. It’s not implausible that this looks a lot like our final class.
I feel like we have a great chance for him listening at some of his interviews and what he wants. He said he'd do what coaches want, but leaning towards offense because he also wants to runs track. If he can get to about 240 and keep that similar speed, he's going to be unstoppable.

Jones Jr. has potentially 2 years left. He’s only a RS Junior

Hard to say because I don't know were the other teams will land and how these kids will be ranked after 247's final ranking. But if I had to predict, it would be 5 to 8 range with ND, Ohio State, bama, UGA and probably Clemson ahead of LSU. I could see LSU passing Clemson though and taking the 5 spot with some good fortune. I'm going to remain optimistic and say some of our lower rated 3 star guys get bumped up and the current 4 and 5 star guys remain the same or get bumped up.

Based on #’s from the previous years, 300 would put us in the 3-5 range.

Prob likely that there’ll be some big scores this year since it seems like there’s a lot more consolidation on high level recruits with just a handful of teams, so maybe 4-7? Still a guess though.

What ranking would that put us at?

300.14 is typically a top 3-5 class year in and year out

I would put Chester at IOL, Womack at DE, Harbor at Athlete.

What happened that made those two leave the team?

There was alot of hype around both as recruits. Sucks they didn't pan out here.

Last year it would’ve been the #5 class, in 2021 it would’ve been #3

Just 1 LB this class? I don’t like the looks of it!

I don't think we have anything to worry about with the transfer portal being in play.

Do you really think mike jones is sticking around for another season? Don't see that happening. He will put up good enough numbers to declare for the draft.

That outcome of 300.14 on 247 Sports would be the first time LSU has broken the 300-point barrier. Bama does it every season but only seven other have.

When Louisiana produces two linebackers ranked among the nation's top eight, including one who's father played for for the Tigers and makes his living employed by the LSU Athletic Department, and you whiff on both, that kind of result is likely.

I’d say any class prediction that has under 30 incoming freshman isn’t exactly accurate.

You can add about 5 players or so to your prediction.
