all good. i just happen to see that not too long ago.
rankings and polls never tell the whole story and are just people's opinions anyway. interestingly enough, aneesah morrow was never "ranked" and was considered a three star recruit, and now she is well on her way to be a top three wnba draft pick!

Unbelievable Aneesah was unranked and 3-star recruit. Major programs didn't give her time of day. Coach Kim said she doesn't specifically look at the numbers/rankings behind the recruits. She looks at the player's heart, passion, leadership, fit at LSU, etc.
Kim said Jada Richard is very special, loves her leadership as PG, high basketball IQ, strong work ethic, exemplary character. Kim said Jada scored 40 points against Mikaylah in HS. Starkey and Redus said she is quick, excellent defensive skills and high energy. Asst coaches believe she should be ranked in the top 25. Her teammates are predicting she will be SEC freshman of the year.
Jada: avg 28.2 pts, 5.6 reb, 4.1 asst, 2.7 stl. 4X state champ, 3X mvp, 2X Gatorade player of the year, MaxPreps player of the year, Miss Basketball, McDonald's AA nominee, total 2,886 pts, valedictorian 4.08 gpa.

I once saw Jada score over 100 points across two games on the same day at a tourney in brusly. It was her jr year and both teams went to the top 28. I think they won one lost one. Both games everyone knew she was shooting the ball every time down.

Kim not surprise, asst coaches not surprised. They believe Jada Richard should be ranked in the top 25. Agree, she will surprise everyone. She has won every top award. Kim and asst coaches have said she didn't play any tourneys in the off-season, and that's why she isn't ranked higher than 90.
Do you know who Kim visited within the past week? I read somewhere she was on the recruiting trail.

I believe some of the assistants were up in Cali visiting the #1 2027 recruit and stopped by to also see Grace Knox at her HS. Knox only has one more official visit next weekend to Tennessee, expect a decision to be announced pretty soon after.
LSU also was in Texas visiting Jacy Abii (top 10 recruit 2026)
I know recently LSU coaches were visiting Caroline Bradley, top 10 player for 2027, 6'5 post player and Louisiana native.

lol. Well, it’s already starting with LSU’s dumb “great players automatically make great coaches” fans. And this from someone who is of course thrilled Seimone Augustus is on the coaching staff.
Folks all over Facebook etc. are hollering “She’ll take over for Mulkey in three years!” And yes, Kim does not seem to have quite the drive she once had, which is still more than 98 percent of the rest.
I give Kim another 3-5 years before she decides to retire and take it easy. And when that happens, Scott Woodward will hire another proven winning head coach, of which everyone not named Dawn Staley will be extremely interested in the LSU job. Seimone’s best bet, if she wants to be LSU’s head coach one day, is to spend a couple years learning under Mulkey then go establish a winning record as a HC at a mid-major or a weak Power 4 school. She’s not becoming LSU’s HC straight from an assistant’s spot.

I mean...pretty good rule of thumb is to never read the comment section under any circumstances.

& if you know Scott Woodward he goes after Big Fish. No disrespect to Seimone. But Scott will hire a proven winner. But I’m hoping that’s 6/7 years from now. I do think recruiting is a big part of it. She said in the presser they can’t continue to rely mainly on the portal. I really thought LSU would be a juggernaut in recruiting when she took the job. Especially after the NC.

Well she took 4 out of the portal this year. Probably would’ve taken a 5th if they were good enough. That wasn’t by design I can assure you. Zakiyah Johnson is more than likely going to Louisville. Alya McDowell recruitment has faded & Dawn Staley wants her. She Backed off of Chavez. Knox is our best chance but Texa$ & U$C are in her top 3. If they don’t close here it’s back to taking multiple portal players…which was her point.

Is Knox a lock to LSU or staying out west?

Well, taking players out of the portal IS part of recruiting, so we can't exclude that. We've done very well there. Additionally, although this 2024 class is just Richard (who is a great pickup), she's also had the SEC freshman of the year two years in a row, not to mention the great 2023 class. I think we're doing fine in recruiting, actually.

Why is there always a collection of fans for every LSU sport that hate their lives?

Ayla McDowell (5 Star-6’2 Wing From Texas) announcing her commitment October 24 between LSU, TCU, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Miss St, Florida
Posted on 10/13/24 at 11:02 am to Tigerbait357
On3 predicting McDowell is between TCU, GT, LSU. Don't see anything predicting S.Carolina, except for their fans hoping, wishing. McDowell is teammate of LSU commit, Bella Hines. She was taught how to shoot and mentored by former LSU player, Marie Ferdinand-Harris, who is a big Mulkey and Starkey fan.
