LSU expected to add two more transfers to round out the portal class. One will be a young player who will try to develop and the other will be someone expected to be in the mix with Koval, Knox, Joyner

i really like ndjakalenga "jak" mwenentanda out of UT. she's 6'2, has a frame like wolfenbarger, and is always moving (kinda like mjracle). and she plays just as well as sa'myah did towards the end of the season. longhorn fans were shocked to see her leave. someone on the tennessee boards seem to think she's headed to either LSU and OU.

In that interview, Joe specifically mentioned Lay as a "PG", which would refute SoCar fans insisting that while she has the athleticism for PG, she is only an off-guard mentally. And also may refute Flaujae, who in recent interviews/podcasts Flaujae has stated the reason she came back (besides going out n top) was mainly her & Kim agreed she needed to become a better "leader & distributor", indirectly implying, at least to me, taking on PG duties to round out her WNBA versatility.

Then 30 seconds later, Joe mentions that Lay can also play off-guard. So now, I'm back to square one: I still don't know who is the starting PG. I'm still leaning Lay after hearing Joe designate her a PG, but both combo guards were bluechip PGs in HS so I find it all interesting if they will battle for PG or both assume partial PG duties.

I think its fairly obvious lay is coming here to start and will definitely be the PG to start at least. Obviously there is flexibility with MK to run it at times and allow her to get her off the ball which we did often last season. MK and Fulwiley at least had positive assist to turnover ratio last year, contrary to Flaujae so I don't think they'll make her a PG (she isn't) but I imagine a focus for Flaujae this season will be her ball handling and in particular decision making (cutting down bad turnovers) and improving her facilitation to teammates. Being able to put up stats is nice, obviously being able to make your teammates look good giving them better looks will be a plus for her draft stock

I think we're going to see Fulwiley be the starting point guard, but sharing those duties with Jada Richard......................who is MORE than capable of being a starting pg. This will allow Fulwiley to play pg part time, and also give relief to Johnson and Williams at 2-guard. It's actually a pretty good situation to have, if you ask me.................................and that's not even counting where Gilbert will fit in.

Hines, a combo guard, could pass up Richard at the point, but it's very nice to have two solid backups at point guard.

Depending on how the freshman come in , idk if Gilbert sees a lot of meaningful playing time.

Unlike everyone apparently, I don't expect any of those freshman guards to get more time than Gilbert or Richard, but we shall see...............................

Gilbert had her moments but for the most part she was very inconsistent and tended to be a ball hog .

Wouldn’t surprise me to see one or two of the freshman get more minutes than Gilbert.

Just because Gilbert was a "ball hog" doesn't mean that she'll be that for the rest of her career. She's extremely talented at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket.........................................maybe moreso than anyone on the team. Her tendency to not share the ball can be corrected by the coaching staff in the offseason. If we get Gilbert under those circumstances, I think she'll be even better than she was this past season. As for Richard, the coaching staff LOVE her. So, I expect she's going to get BIG minutes at the point guard this coming season, if she isn't starting.

This is out of nowhere but it only helps to add to this recruiting class.

The problem with basketball is that a play style is incredibly difficult to change. When you have someone that has played this way their entire career, and are still set on this play style this late, it’s not really as simple as just telling them to stop looking for their shot so much and they suddenly become a great role player.

She’s hardwired to score, and she isn’t a good enough scorer to get the volume she needs to be successful here.

Not to start an argument, but none of that is true. Her "playing style" doesn't really need to change. She just needs to look more for open teammates. That's it. That CAN be corrected by coaching, especially if the player knows their minutes can be cut if they don't adjust.
