well this is interesting: saw on another site that audi crooks got $1.4 MILLION from oklahoma state for her commitment!! that makes her the 3rd highest paid women's basketball player IN THE WORLD!!
she's behind only a'ja wilson (3yrs/$5 mil) and aliyah boston (4yrs/$6mil) in terms of "salary."
welp, if audi doesnt get picked up by a wnba team (like reagan beers) then at least she cleaned house for her final college year.
on another note, ole miss's only remaining decent player from last year (sira theinou) entered the portal. i could be wrong, but the sec looks to have only 4 decent teams next year (kentucky, south carolina, lsu, vandy). seems like everyone else is in shambles.

I wouldn't count out Texas. They could still add a piece or two. Even though they lost four starters and their top player off the bench, their recruiting class is off the charts. They signed basically a new starting lineup and a sixth woman off the bench- all 5 stars and Top 30 players.
If they keep those girls together they'll be hard to beat in the future. This coming year will be their biggest challenge with all of the inexperience. Replacing a 5-year starter at point guard will be difficult (South Carolina will find that out as well).
If the new point guard Spaight plays like she did in the all-star games I look for Texas to make it to the Sweet Sixteen for sure. They still have Booker and Cunningham.

Seems like Mulkey is running out of options as far as post players go.

For those in the know, any chance Smith would come back?

Remember that Angel, Aneesah and some of our transfers committed late during the 1st week of May, well after the portal closed. HVL committed on April 28.

They’ve been in heavy discussion with two international bigs for a while. I’m sure it’ll get announced soon.

That's good news. This is probably the only option for the quality of bigs they want with the amount of money remaining. It seems the Richard and Bella transfers were a huge curveball that they weren't planning on- so in order to replace them with players just as good or better from the transfer market they probably had to spend around a million that they had previously allocated for bigs in the transfer portal.
Most U.S. kids in the portal really aren't interested in winning a championship as top priority anymore- it's how big a bag I can get, guaranteed starting or top playing time, or letting me be the focal point of the offense (Richard) getting all the shots I want. Under these circumstances, the international route is quite a creative approach which could really yield some good, experienced depth in the frontcourt.
Seems like they need another guard, ie. a backup for Jada Williams- either a combo or a point guard- who can shoot the 3 well. Wonder if they've been considering Sinou from Ole Miss or Trinity Jones, who looked great in the all-star games and had LSU up at the top before choosing Clemson.

Who made the bucket with under a minute left to sink Texas? Who made the buzzer-beating shots to force OT against Stanford and Oklahoma last year? MK. A number of times she’s made the clutch FTs to put the game away. Who does Mulkey trust and give the ball to at the end of games and quarters? MK These are facts. Where are your Flaujae facts?
Also, in the first SC game Flaujae not only missed the free throws but a three-pointer that could have either tied or won the game with 7 seconds left.
Flaujae meant an incredible amount to the program, and I’ve always liked her a lot. But was almost always disappointed with her inability to hit the clutch shots down the stretch in the biggest games.
I knew this post would be unpopular because we all love Flaujae so much, but I feel my stance is backed by the facts.
Again, you are cherry picking. But if that's the route you want to go..........
2024 SEC Tournament vs SC - Johnson, 13 pts (40 minutes), Williams 2 pts (23 minutes)
2024 NCAA Tournament vs UCLA - Johnson 24 pts, Williams 12 pts
2024 NCAA Tournament vs Iowa - Johnson 23 pts, Williams 18 pts
2025 NCAA Tournament vs UCLA - Johnson 28 pts, Williams 10 pts
2026 SEC Reg Season vs #13 Oklahoma - Johnson 23 pts, Williams 10 pts
2026 SEC Reg Season vs #3 South Carolina - Johnson 21 pts, Williams 11 pts
2026 SEC Reg Season vs #17 Ole Miss - Johnson 21 pts, Williams 7 pts
2026 SEC Tournament vs #7 Oklahoma - Johnson 21 pts, Williams 14 pts
So, as I've said, we can cherry pick all day long. My problem with Williams is more often than not she is not assertive in big games. She could literally lead the SEC in scoring if she wanted to but, she's WAY too passive. Johnson is not.............AND Johnson is a MUCH better defender. Your previous post is based on OPINION (contrary to your belief), but that's okay because that's what a message board is for. It will be interesting to see what happens next season because if Williams doesn't give this team at least 20 ppg, next season's team will take a step back with what they currently have coming back. Next season she hast to STEP UP and be the player she was supposed to be coming out of high school, period.........................and stop disappearing when the team needs her most.

LSU alum-
Your post is duly noted, and I don't dispute the facts or comparisons you've made. I appreciate your research! My point was SPECIFICALLY about who makes the big shots AT THE END of games when they're on the line- who has that "clutch gene" under immense pressure with the game on the line and heavy on your shoulders in the final minute and seconds that Michael Jordan personified and perfected- who handles the greatest pressure the best- and I'll continue to have that opinion about MK.
But I really appreciate Flaujae's contributions- she stepped up often in big games, but not as much as I'd hoped for given a player of her magnitude AT THE VERY END OF BIG GAMES, which often determines championships. You could tell by Flaujae's disappointed expressions in those instances that she often felt the same way. You need the clutch scorer in those moments, and I'll take MK all day every day in those situations, even though (as you've pointed out) Flaujae often outplayed her for most of the game.
Carry on! We're both rooting for the same players and appreciate them!

Thanks 357, hope they are physical/aggressive and good with rebounding. Do you have any scoops/hints on O'Neal? I think she has DNC tag.

Do you think they’re also going for a guard who can play backup PG and also shoot the 3?

SC is going to continue being trouble for years to come.
It’s insane Big O goes there with the frontcourt depth they have returning.
