I've heard recently that the staff was looking at adding less than 10. Definitely going to be looking for quality over quantity.

Zavion should be a no brainer should he enter.

Return specialist seems like a luxury if you’re only taking 10.

We’ll definitely look at Louisiana kids first. There’s a major precedent there. I’d say keep an eye on any Louisiana kid around the country in the power 5 that enters the portal. It seems like the goal is to take 28-30 high school kids and 5-7 portal guys. DL, CB, QB, WR, possibly LB need to be supplemented through the portal.

I think many people are going to be surprised when the vast majority of A$M players don’t go anywhere. Money is still there. a new coach will bring excitement and he will rally the troops. Players will start believing they could actually be in the playoff picture before they leave.

I agree. They had the chance to jump last year and didn’t. Not many are going to leave

LSU is 124 and 130 in special teams efficiency the past two seasons

STs is no longer a luxury; it’s a major issue

I’d also keep an eye on DeCamerion Richardson from State. 2 year starter from Bossier with a Covid year remaining. 6’2 and runs sub 4.4

Also I’d watch for Jyaire Brown telling Ohio State to redshirt him. He’s played in only four games this year with 2 remaining.

Brown played the most snaps of any true freshman at Ohio State a year ago then fell down the depth chart this season.

We just play it safe and never try to return it. Kelly gunshy after last season. Anderson will be the guy next season. We had, what, 1 ST turnover which was this past week? I’m not saying it’s great, but it’s FAR better than last year. (Maybe I’m forgetting?)

I think Anderson muffed a punt early in the season, maybe against Florida State and I don’t think they’ve sent him back for another punt return since.

BK has definitely sent the message out to players from Louisiana playing around the country. He’s making it known that Louisiana guys that fit the bill will get first dibs. I think it’s really smart by him.

This is correct. It's been a Clayton fair catch fest back there since then.

It's a luxury this year because our offense is nuts. I have to imagine we at least regress a little bit next year, so we'll need to the ability to make plays on ST.

He’s a good player. What he was rated out of high school? 5 star or 4 star?

So if you can evaluate talent, you’re telling me you CAN find really good players?

Interesting.

To be fair, many of his fair catches have been the right call. Especially with our offense.

3 of 34 punts returned and 1 muffed by Anderson. So 30 either fair caught, out of play, or inside the 10.

It is a huge issue. Our kickoff team sucks. Our return game is pathetic. Honestly, between the defense and special teams, that shows how elite our offense is. They are driving the length of the field almost every possession

It’s frustrating when you have guys like Anderson who BK said during fall camp was “one of the best return men I’ve ever seen.” Guy drops one ball and he’s a ghost now.
