That's too bad, both for the player and the team. Her experience and talent would have added to what is looking like possibly one of Beth's best teams. She should be able to get a medical redshirt if she wants to use it.

Do we know what happened with Tidwell and her transfer to Utah? I was fully expecting her to see her this weekend make her return to Tiger Park, but she is no longer on the roster.

She returned home after the first semester, another medical issue and a boyfriend that was what I gathered off her social media posts.

I'm not sure how medical redshirts work with Covid 5th years. She is getting her masters so conceivably she could take the red shirt and come back if it works the same and she wants it.
Her injury underlines exactly why we need solid backups even with the top catcher in the recruiting class on campus. I hope she does come back.

Sadly quality backups is a thing of the past IMO. That has gone the way of the portal and instant gratification by young adults both parents and players. Hell Oklahoma had em leave and brought in about 5 quality starters so the backups were the quality kids they already had.
In this case if Carson does come back you will have two quality catchers next year and will not have to spend portal dollars on a backup catcher and maybe go get another quality arm from the portal.
All that said this free agency has change sports as we knew it.........get on board the portal train or get left behind.

The team has 85 runners left on base through 11 games. I would love to know what the team RISP is right now. Batting average being tops in the league is all fun and games until those hits don't happen with runners on. It's only 11 games so far but this offense should be better.

Licking chops to onboard these 2! We just need to keep making them better. They are apparently 2 of the best in the country at their age group. Where college coaching comes in is what do you do with that immense talent once they get to college and have to face SEC pitching and SEC hitting on a regular bases. Can you cultivate that talent and maximize the potential they have--and it is very clear there is A LOT of potential here. Beth does a wonderful job with pitchers, it would seem. We have to find a way to adapt offensively. We clearly look to be on track to be uber-athletic after the 23 and 24 classes get in. Lots of speed and athleticism in those 2 classes, and I mean A LOT. Might be the fastest team LSU has ever had and possibly the most athletic. Can we just LET'S GEAUX???!!!!!

Don't believe she received the offers expected and chose the best school for her included in her options. She's a really solid player, but I'm guessing BC offered a full ride and the other P5's were not at that interest level. Kids/families sometimes put either (1) financial package or (ii) how they feel they are valued by the program above the prestige thing.
Players like these two I mention--Heavener & Jones (both 24 class)--almost surely received full rides plus some would be my guess. We do have one St Amant recruit in the 24 class. Kid is strong with a lot of pop and has good potential. I think she is killing it in high school, although not as much in travel ball when facing higher level pitching but with good coaching she could be good. Key is "good coaching". Coach Beth may need to make some adjustments. I think maybe Sandra Simmons is only one that may get a pass from what I'm hearing.

Played travel ball many summers up in that area of the country and is going to BC with some of those teammates is what I was told
