What is the problem with a 3 star recruit? If the High School players don't go to camp than they don't get rated high. I just don't understand why so many people on this board are star watchers... If you can play than the staff will offer.

the people freaking out in this thread are just idiots

a lot of times these offers are just to keep relations with schools anyways

they know the kid won't come to LSU, but they extend an offer just to keep in touch with the coaches and whatnot

You EA sports dynasty allstars are fricking impossibly retarded

Teuhema is coming here because he's following his brother. I don't know if I would attribute his commit to Grimes

I get where you are going and I seriously doubt that they didn't make this decision together. They both visited with family and made choice. This wasn't Nkemdiche type of situation. This was more like the OTs that went to Bama.

There is no problem with them.... They are needed to add good depth. Brown is a very good Tackle prospect and Teauma could play there if needed but we shouldn't need. We doing fine with OL recruiting. Just need 3 good tackles next year also. LSU needs to really make both lines of scrimmage more of a priority though. QB also.... Seems like the secondary and skill positions are much easier to recruit for LSU so not as much focus there. I trust that this new staff will make a huge diff in all areas simply BC now other guys can focus more on their strengths instead of having to recruit all areas like DL and LB. We have guys to take that over and now Frank and others can focus on OL, RB, WR, secondary. Les can close for em all on the prospects that need more closing. GT

Only position we are lacking elite recruits is DLine. Have missed there last year and this. (Though I think we have some potential great ones from last year like DG and S. Teuhema) Orgeron did not have the time to get going this year. Watch what he can do next year with a full year to pursue these guys.

interesting and solid tactic. makes sense.

I agree too much star gazing. I have seen enough bust to stop believing the hype machine. I used to be a heavy star gazer but i have seen enough 2 and 3 stars grow to become elite to know it means about as much as my opinion. Nothing!

2013 draft changed my mind about O line recruits. I want measurables and mean streaks. solid film.

A good coach can take 3*'s and make them look like all- stars.
If history has shown us anything here, it's that.

I wonder if this is a kid that Grimes identified when he was at VaTech and kept the relationship warm. I wish we had more insight into this offer. I love the measurable on this kid.

Noooo, but unless you have watched every OL play every HS game, there are only 3 things to go by:
1) recruiting services ratings
2) which schools offer
3) does LSU get the guys they offer

If you have another measurement DURING recruiting, please feel free to enlighten us.

LSU need LBers also. Other than Beckwith who may just have 1 more year and C Garrett who seems to be an unproven stud, LSU has no other impact LBer. Good job, Chavis!

Oh, and BTW, we have 0 LBers committed although I have said I expect LSU to flip Leo Lewis...still do.

Fool we are the only team in the top 10 with less than 20 commits. As a matter of fact, we were one of the biggest classes early with around 9-11 commits. Last year around August, we had the #1 CB, #2 OT, and two of the top 6 RBs.

If LSU connects on just 3 of their higher guys they are on right now

Tega Jr
Jefferson
Key
Lewis
Weathersby
Valentine
Dillon
Charlot
Peters
Gibson

and maybe 2 guys like McGinnis, Moreau, and the new guy Arnold, they'll have a top 5 class. Calm down. People want to get on the coaches for not getting even more talent then complain because we don't develop 3 star guys who stay 4 and 5 years like MSU, TCU, or other lower schools. We do enough of both.

Yeah, and Toliver, X. Lewis, Adams, Jefferson, Paris, White, and all the other DBs are going to be making a lot of tackles.

So now you've changed your stance again?

LOL. I'm not a star gazer, at all. However, you guys seem like Ole Miss/State fans. Trying to rationalize not having a top 10 class. You do know that no team in the BCS era has won a national championship without top 10 classes. Thinking that a star makes a player is ridiculous. Thinking that a team full of highly ranked players is overblown, is also ridiculous. Rankings matter, overall. Period.

I have LSU getting like 6 of the guys you listed but STILL won't finish top 5. That is simply because of oversigning by the other teams...28...29...30 guys.

Word is TW told Arkansas coach today that they are number one, pair that with LSU's late offer of a lesser rated/talented OT and the writing seems to be on the wall. Pretty sure Hogs picked up a crystal ball pick or two for TW lately.
