anyone have an inside info. on how interested LSU really is in Harris. for ex. if we are only taking 1 qb this year, would we still take a commitment from rudolph at anyn time.

I doubt we take 2 QB's...but that's just my opinion.

edit: but apparently I'm wrong.

Lucky technicality. Still sounds like Cameron wants Harris OVER Rudolph, but I guess you're safe if we take both

They also said if he committed they would shut QB recruiting down and stick with him! He must be pretty darn good!! But Cam probably doesn't know what he's talking about. I'll go with most people's advice a week ago saying he better camp, no offers without camp

If we take BOTH Harris and Rudolph, I'll consider you safe since no one will really know who we took over the other one

I have seen him first hand and his tools are as good as anybodys. He is a legit 6'2", very strong arm and throws a good ball, and very athletic and mobile. Without knowing Coach Cam, my hunch is that Cam feels like the things Brandon needs work on are coachable things, and Cam has a strong history of improving QB play.

What kind of chance do we have at Harris, considering guys like LeagueCityTiger have likely been in his ear badmouthing LSU for the last few months for not offering him

I have never bad mouthed LSU to Brandon, NEVER. I love LSU and always will try to steer kids in that direction if it is a good fit for them.
I have only defended him against criticism for not going to camp. Because as much as I love LSU, I love our kids more and will defend them especially when I know they are 100% first class like Brandon is. I'll take his character any day of the week over some of you message board sharks (Memphis Tiger and JakefromSF).

EVERYTHING I have said has been 100% credible and accurate. LSU has changed suit IMHO from their earlier stance for the EXACT reasons I said they would. They came to school, got to talk to the kid, got to see him spin 20-comeback routes like he is throwing a 5-yard out, Throwing streaks 70-yards and being the enormously impressive talent that he is. Cameron was obviously impressed after seeing him IN PERSON at SPRING PRACTICE going FULL-CONTACT against 11 guys and not throwing in some 7 on 7 drill at a camp. Alabama DID offer with no strings attached and with no requirement that he camp. From what I was told, that came from Saban's mouth in a phone call Monday and I am of the firm belief that this is what persuaded LSU to offer.

If you don't want to hear credible information the don't read it but you guys are DEAD WRONG..bottomline.

This. League never bad mouthed LSU on here. He only questioned why they never offered.

Also, I'm sure the kid is an LSU fan. How much did the offer affect him? Is he truly interested in committing to LSU at this point?

IMHO, not speaking for him, I think he was hurt that they didn't offer at first when these other schools were indeed offering. He is a 17-year old kid and that's what some these jerks on here don't get. He is gonna make mistakes and say the wrong things some time but he is a first-class kid.

I think it is very safe to say that LSU is high on his list. What Louisiana kid doesn't have LSU high on their list?

Well I have to agree with you. All I was saying was when Alabama offered could he commit on the spot. After reading the news yesterday. I know he can commit to LSU at any time and Les tried to get him to commit on the phone last night. So I hope your boy signs with the good guys. I great to hear from you keep us updated.

I agree with you. That's why I tried to point out to others that he's a kid and maybe we should put ourselves in his shoes. Plus, we were not there for the interview, could not see his reactions/emotions when making certain statements, and should take what is written with a grain of salt (it could have been out of context). Regardless, I don't want you or him taking everything from this board as the views on him as a player/person.

I'm glad he got the offer and he shouldn't be offended by LSU holding off. He should concentrate on the positives; he has received offers from all the major players in CFB now! That's amazing and not many kids can say that.

I will also reiterate what I said in the last thread. LSU is not in the position that other kids are with Harris. They could not take the chance to offer Harris and then take it back later on. There are just too many bridges that they could not afford to burn. Other out of state schools could take that chance (and LSU could do the same with out of state kids). It wasn't necessarily slow playing, but making 100% sure they thought he was a take at this point, which is still early.

Anyways, I hope he choose LSU, but I wish him the best in his career.
