Yeah, it was bad times but now it's back and it's gonna be great until shut down by a private school that should not be playing with these kids. At least we will have one kid on the field better than any they can recruit.

Back to the kid, though, he's gonna get too tall to be a running back and too tall to be a linebacker.

He ran a 4.47 at the LSU camp.

If he gets to 6'3" or above and retains his athleticism, we are in Kearse territory.

This might end up being a great story.

I certainly hope so.....

The Springhill Lumberjacks were a traditional 2A power for many years and just went to shite in an unimaginable way in the 2000's all of the sudden for whatever reason depending on the source.

I remember it painfully well, having personally experienced both the good AND the bad....

quote:

The Springhill Lumberjacks were dissolved as part of a highly contested and locally dramatic consolidation and the high school became North Webster High School. In it's second year, even having to play in the division of Calvary and Evangel, it found it's legs for the first time in years and it took John Curtis to put them down in the playoffs.

Yes, the future looks bright right now for NWHS. I think we'll really see the year round conditioning start to pay dividends this year.

I saw Devin a few days ago and asked him straight up about his prospects. He said he was "undecided" about where to go. That's fair enough as he's a young kid w/ a lot of attention thrust upon him. The scarey thing is to consider just how good he could become, especially since this year was his first w/ year round training.

6'4 is not "too tall" for a LB? Maybe if he bulks up to 240-250 range and still runs around a 4.5 he could play with his hands on the ground. The possibility of that is making my mouth water.
