They probably knew Bass was off the market so they filled that spot with Adam O. Looks like a good player.

It has to be difficult for McMahon and his staff to recruit right now because there is no certainty they will be here next season. McMahon can't not recruit because until he's not, he's the LSU HC. But top players are going to be hesitant to commit/sign with a staff that may not be here next season.

Doubtful. It used to be an ordeal to get out when the coach you signed with is fired. Now it's free agency for everyone.

I don't disagree that it is easy to get out. But from a player standpoint I'd be hesitant to sign to play for a staff that very well may not be there when I enroll. Even if it is easy to get out, if a player signs in the early period, he can't sign anywhere else during the CBB season and won't know until the end of the season if the staff will be back next year. While he could get released from LOI, the spots available at other schools when he does so may be limited.
That could, of course, happen with any team. But the CBB market (i.e. other coaches) know who is on the "hot seat" and you can bet they are telling LSU's targets CMM probably won't be there next season.

But they won't be because every team ends up with an "unplanned" open spot after the season because somebody, probably multiple somebodies, will be transferring.

I think we’re on Herly Brutus watch. Trilly reported that Brutus really likes LSU but his camp is pushing for the zags. He visited last week I believe and the gonzaga visit will be the last. Trilly said that two of his contacts told him the Gonzaga visit was called off so I guess we’ll find out pretty soon.
Adam O is still up in the air but we’ve done a pretty good job. LSU, Oregon, and Villanova.
Also sounds like we could be heating up for Montverde’s Kevin Thomas.
There won’t be as much emphasis on high school recruiting this season. We’re probably gonna take one or two more with Vaughns already on board.

This is an interesting comment by Brutus: “I trust them (the coaches) because we talked about the good and the bad of how things could get with me.”

I really don't care who he recruits. I just care that he is able to put a winning product on the court.
If he could have the success of the fired prior coach, I would be ecstatic.
