I really don't get what it is with some kids in Louisiana who are "such big Nick Saban fans"... it seems a lot of them don't have a clue about state loyalty or pride really. I dunno....

?

He just said the coaches were going to offer him for safety. How do you know what he'll be offered? He ran a 4.8. That's not necessarily the fastest of WRs

Well, he did run it at a recent combine. We don't know the variables or conditions. Could be a lot of reasons why he ran that. I've seen HS guys run 4.8s in combines and end up with 4.4 speed in the NFL combines. Simple answer is too many variables like what type of surface, field conditions, etc.

If he consistently hits it at every combine though, then you probably know what his real speed is.

That being said, Diarse is the second best player in the state behind Smith, IMO. Guy is a straight up baller. Someone is going to get them a great football player.

I've watched recruiting for a long time but I'm far from an expert (95% of you guys aren't either).
I do not recall a time, going back to Bear Bryant's days, when so many of our top players want to go to Ala. This is a five year trend and it's not getting better.
It appears to me Ala.is doing a better job at recognizing the very top La. talent and going after it early than LSU. We just went 13-1.
DSo we just EXPECT these La. kids to fall in line?

I'm sorry, but any player that takes what people say on message boards seriously is someone who is mentally weak.

JMO - that is a cop out designed to give posters a free pass to say whatever they want (mostly shriek like infants)

And a cop out that I believe you don't live up to yourself - either you have absolutely nothing going on in your life or some of your posts indicate a serious interest in things said around here

If Louisiana kids dont appreciate what LSU has to offer that's their business. However, all sports fans in Louisiana will and should take notice and these kids that leave should also plan on making their home outside of La permanently.

That statement will surely scare them into committing to LSU.

You're right, HD.
This approach, while contianing a kernal of truth, is not effective and is the tool of losers.

He did this last Feb at the nike combine. Ive said this about 20 times on this board but he then ran a 4.48 at the LSU camp over the summer. Again, FOUR POINT FOUR EIGHT. he has enough speed to play WR, CB, or safety.

The 4.8 was at the UnderArmour combine last month.

Yup.

But I believe in comparison to other times there, it was actually pretty high. Something that should be noted.

Ok just looked up the results. Damn near every kid that was 4.6 or less was like 170lbs. Noel ellis ran a 4.7 at 180lbs. Not too many impressive times there at that combine.

Have you ever watched that ESPN 30/30 about SMU? They talk to Eric Dickerson about being recruited. He said when he went to the University of Texas the coach who was recruiting him said if you dont come to UT you will never find a job in Texas. Eric Dicketson said he told the guy FU and never even considered Texas because of thst coach. Kids dont want to be threatened.
