That’s interesting. Where would she fit in? Bars? Vault? I looked for her last season but didn’t see her. Was she hurt?

Courtney retired last year and worked as a gymnastics coach at a local gym. She has an extra year of eligibility and is currently exploring her options. I think she would be a great pickup from the portal. She has career highs of 9.95 on bars (with a unique Markelov release move and a clean double layout) and floor (fairly good twister). She also has an amazing Yurchenko 1.5, with which she got a perfect 10 at the LA 2023 regionals. Excited to see where she lands!

She would be a great grab for us and would give us the depth we need on those three events every week, especially in order to give Chio, Ulrich, Lincoln, and McClain their much needed rest on the 3 events without sacrificing for a lower score or difficulty routine

Looks like we have three gymnasts returning for a 5th year. Tory and Alexis announced last week and tonight Kathryn posted her return on Twitter. It will be interesting to see who will be in the lineups come January.

What do you guys attribute so many returning to? Especially the girls who competed little or not at all? Just loving the program and not ready to say good-bye, hoping to compete more this season, or mainly to finish their degree?

I agree! She will be missed. I wonder if Myia Hambrick will be interested in returning to LSU? She has been an asset to Utah and was a great beam worker at LSU.
