lol. I don’t think anyone is suggesting she shouldn’t be in the line up (either me or iwy). What we are saying is they could have done any number of things (like changing her line up position or making it easier) all season so she could hit and get the scores we need consistently.
The fact is she hasn’t been consistent in competition but they have t done anything to try to help her either - and I doubt very much that they will change either her routine or the line up order this late in the game.

Bet she coached someone up to hard. “Respectful atmosphere ”

Aleah leads the all America second team on floor and I think she has done a decent job on vault given the circumstances (injury, changing her vault during season, etc.).
The beam and bars situation is, again, a 100% on the coaching staff.
She had issues with that triple series and/or the aerial this whole season. Some minor changes could have been made and I think she would have been just fine. It is not like changing a vault.
Sticking that bars dismount has been an issue since she got to college, so plenty of time to take action there.
Of course now might be too late, so we just hope for some good days from her (and not some Missouri days). It's unfortunate every year we get to postseason feeling like some changes could have been made regarding routine construction...

So does anyone think we may play with the lineups today. Maybe sub Livvy or sav for beam bars or floor? Chase for vault. Just to not overdo Haleigh, kiya or Konnor?

I understand your reasoning but aren't individual qualifications based on today's results? If we were to rest some of the big scorers and fail to make nationals, our rested gymnasts wouldn't even have the chance to compete for individual national titles. I just don't see Jay putting out a weaker lineup especially given our past few regional performances.

I agree - there is no margin for error. From here on out, it’s going to be full strength lineup each time we get to compete and let the chips fall where they may. I honestly hope that they may be a bit flat today, but aren’t in danger of losing, because Saturday is the more important day - this is supposedly the easiest regional, but it makes me nervous.
In addition, it is the individual qualification day to the extent we don’t advance to nationals as a team, so no way he is keeping the big names out unless they are injured/sick.

I get that. Do y’all think sav may still compete beam and replace Alexis seeing as she did so good at sec’s?

Arkansas came out ahead of Kentucky today. Kentucky 197.1 and Arky 197.325.
The YF scored well in session 1. Several 9.875's and a couple of 9.90's which was surprising. It has to be stuck though. I know KJ's YF is better than any that I saw in session 1.
Arky had a little help at home but performed well on beam and floor. LSU needs a stellar meet tonight. They would have to start on beam Saturday night.

Just saw on IG the team arriving with the boombox & wannabe swag. The same shite they pulled a few years back when they got booted in the regionals. I get it’s all fun but it looks goofy & unfocused.

It's the same thing they always do

Surprised to see Bama rest Blanco on floor (not that they needed her score but just for individual qualification purposes). I think we can afford to rest Kiya on floor but it will be good practice for nationals to compete both days.

Would prefer to see them a bit more focused.

They literally did the same thing at SEC Championships this year and look what happened. Stop comparing this team to the one from 2021. It’s a completely different mindset and team mentally, physically, and emotionally and if the coaches had an issue with it, they wouldn’t have even let it happen 2 weeks ago

Is Kiya not competing tonight?
Posted on 4/4/24 at 7:08 pm to lsugymfann
Are we actually resting kiya on vault?
Posted on 4/4/24 at 7:13 pm to khill715
You’re not beating OU if you can’t stick vault landings.

Don’t need to be perfect tonight. Would actually just prefer they have a mid meet.
