You think we get Golden for 2013? I sure hope so. That guy looks really good. I figured he would be A&M or UT's to lose
Word is him and his dad love them some Tigers.

God I would love to get this kid along with another DT next year and maybe one surprise to end this recruiting class!

It's possible that we get 2 top DTs from Texas next year.Golden and Justin Manning.Manning will be tougher but he likes us a good bit.

I have not heard of Justin Manning. What part of Texas is he from? Golden could be a HUGE get. That guy reminds me a lot of A. Johnson. This D-line could be absolutely unstoppable in the coming years

Justin Manning Scout profile, Kimball High, Dallas

Kimball is a 4a school out here in Dallas.
More basketball tradition than football.

Most famous alumnus is Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Golden & Manning are two of three ranked 2013 DT's in TX

I think Minter has improved greatly over the year, as has Jones. But to say I'd feel better, I don't know.

Every year we talk abou the lbs being a week point, but yet that group seems to perform well, even before chavis.

Ill take our lbs not being as good as our other groups all day log. Obviously one group is going to outshine the rest, like our dbs.

I wouldn't say they've performed well this year.

If I was grading them it would be a mid range C. Thank goodness Baker was in the lineup while Hatcher and Francois were getting more playing time.
Minter I think will be like a Ryan Baker by the time he leaves. He's showed real improvement.

Isaiah Golden man that kids fast. I think he would compliment manning in the 2 spot.

Manning's film looks like he might be a better prospect. He looks good in the 3.

Where does that kid from San Antonio compare to these two you think?

Yeah Golden is ridiculous. It sounds like Manning is really into OU. Go figure. It's only 2.5 hours from Dallas so I understand that

Manning's brother is Demarcus Granger who is a DL at Oklahoma.Word is that he's not set on Oklahoma but that is the reason I said he'd be tougher to pull.I'm pretty sure he attended one of our camps this summer.

Magee is a better athlete than Golden and Manning. He's a natural DE at 275+.Similar to Ego Ferguson as a sr in high school but I don't think he's quite on that level but he has a ton of potential.

To the poster below I agree Taylor is likely the biggest loss on defense this year because of his leadership and savvy as the on field caption of the defense.I do think Reid will take over those reins next year. Now if only we can get Loston to play a little less recklessly and we could be better at S next year from a pure ability standpoint.Taylor while his skills are immeasurable as a leader, has talent limitations.

when we lost taylor for the couple of games it really showed an effect on our defense.

Taylor is a four year starter and has a good football iq to read what's gonna happen before the snap imo.

Taylor is BY FAR the most underrated player on the LSU defense. I hope he does well in the NFL.

In regards to Magee it likely will depend on how hard we push for him and whether he is willing to forgive the staff for the late push. We've recruited him awhile but not as hard or as seriously as some of those schools. He still considers LA home so that can only help.I wouldn't say we're the favorite or anything but I do think if we prioritize him and make him say no then we could have a great shot.He has to see how our DL plays and see that we fit his style of play.Basically I'd say we're a little behind the others but if we push we could easily land him.I can't for the life of me understand why the staff hasn't been on him hard before lately. In the summer he was begging for an offer from LSU and even then he was an impressive guy.

I don't see how our LB's could be worse next year. I think they will be better. We've got young guys getting a little playing time and a great group of freshman coming in that probably won't play but who knows they may surprise everyone.

If one of the incoming highly tauted freshman can come in and contribute a our new beast LB then LB play will send this 2012 defense to the record books as one of the best ever in NCAA history.

Think about it. The reason our LB's really hasn't hurt LSU this year is because our front four have been killer this year. That will be the same next year but probably better.

If MC stays at corner I just don't see how we don't contend for the National Championship next year.

I think the defense next year will be better to be honest. We keep our front 4 which is huge. I hate to say this, but losing Hatcher and Francois might actually be for the better but only time will tell. I think our LB core can be MUCH better with this incoming LB class and the addition of Trevon Randle from last year's class. I also think Tahj Jones is going to impress some people
