We moved in the top 10 with a class I think has some good immediate help plus some players that can develop over the course of their career. If we can add 1 or 2 of Anselem/gaines/O'neal this might turnout to be class that helps next year and down the road.

Has anyone confirmed if O’Neal would have to sit a year or not?

TB, you think we get Gaines if Smart decides to stay? I'm thinking that if Gaines comes that means Smart is out or Bishop will be gone next year.

We have 2 spots left (assuming we replace Cooper) and I think Gaines is a take regardless. We only have 5 guards and a 6th would be nice. Dont think it has any bearing on Smart or Bishop, both those guys should be back next season. Dont get down on Bishop, he's been hurt some and they expect bigger things from him next season.

I think the last 2 spots go:

1. Gaines
2. Anselem or O'Neal (As of right now)

We could potentially get O'Neal then Anselem stays in 2021 and get him then too as well. I sort of feel like with O'Neal we may lose him to Memphis since he left here uncommitted. Nothing more than gut feeling there though.

1. Days
2. Smart
3. Watford
4. Bishop
5. Manning
6. Hyatt
7. Cook
8. Thomas
9. LeBlanc
10. Wilkinson
11. Ezewiro
12. Gaines
13. Oneal/Anselem

Could you imagine that 13 man roster? That is absolutely stacked my friends. I still think Watford leaves this year and we don't get one of Anselem or Oneal.

Im not sure LSU can rely on Ezewiro much next year. Does he even start for his high school team?

Why do you ask? Do you have a source for that comment?
He may be a role player but there is a need for his skills.

I'm pretty sure he's the starting 5 at Oak Hill Academy.

Ezewiro is not someone who will play much early on his career here, he's a developmental prospect for sure. He does have great size though, about 6'8 260-ish. Gives us a true big body we sorely lack right now.

That would be ideal, but unfortunately rarely works out this way for us. I would argue Anselem if he reclassified has more value than O'Neal as he fits a bigger need for a tall center. Especially if O'Neal has to sit out all season.

Interested to see how things end up.

vs Bishop Gorman 01/20/2020

I asked because I watched this recent video and he didn't start against Mwani's team. To be fair, its the only game I watched....that's why I asked.

He is #30 in white.

Ezewiro did alright on AAU circuit last year:

LINK

Averaged 16.5 minutes, 8.6 points on 51%, 3.6 boards (1.2 offensive) and only 8 turnovers in 13 Nike EYBL games

Averaged 24.6 minutes, 13.4 points on 48%, 8.8 boards (2.8 offensive) and had 5 blocks in 5 Peach Invitational Games

He will have to improve from the line quite a bit as he struggled there but got there a lot (74 FTA and only 40 makes in 18 AAU games). That's 4.1 FTA per game but in only 18.8 minutes per game.

He also plays for Oak Hill Academy, so even getting good minutes off the bench for them qualifies you as a Power 5 recruit

Thanks for sharing that video. I really like #1 for Bishop Gorman, looks like he is headed to UCLA. That kid will be great on the next level. Man, Cam Thomas is going to be an elite scorer, he will come in and put up points immediately. He'll have to adjust a bit on the defensive side of the ball, he is accustom to the AAU style of up and down and not much D. But, that kid is a great athlete and will be a great player for LSU.

Ezewiro is raw but has the tools to be a great player down the road. I agree, i don't think he comes in and plays from day 1. But, he has the size and tools to be a great post player. Has the raw athletic ability and size, those aren't things you can teach.

Wade is doing a great job building this program. I really hope LSU makes the moves to give him what he wants.

I attended O'Dea vs. Eastside Catholic in Seattle tonight. O'Dea has 2021 top-rated F Paolo Banchero. Everybody is after him... Duke, Kentucky, Gonzaga, Washington, etc. However, O'Dea got beat by 25+ b/c of the guard play by Eastside Catholic and 2021 PG Nolan Hickman was easily the best player on the court, by far. Looks like he's only getting Pacific NW regional interest, but this kid can play ball.
