From where? I know we are recruiting him hard, but not sure if there was anything recent.

Just not seeing it.... LSU didn’t make the top 10 list back in Nov. I sure hope we land him but with LSU not on the top 10 list, it’s gonna have to be a flip, which does happen. Boot up and Geaux Tigers.

The way we handle spots is gonna be really interesting. Right now we’re full up with the three seniors graduating and Emmitt leaving, but it’s obvious Wade plans on adding 3 more guys (Gaines, Anselem, Kuminga). I’m guessing Wade thinks Watford is likely to declare and stick in the draft, and we might see Cooper and Hyatt get processed.

Watford is gone he’s 6’9” can handle the ball, good around basket, jumps well, improving his shot, can shoot FTs, he’s not a project—- he will leave and get drafted in the 1st round no doubt in my mind

Best pro prospect we’ve had since Simmons so my hopes are not high of him returning

Trendon has a below average shot right now, leads our team in turnovers per game, disappears a lot late in games.

I love TW, but he's very much still a project. He has great upside, and another year in college he will explode. 6'9 230 with average athleticism and not much of an outside shot is not an elite prospect. Ben Simmons had exceptional ball handling skills, TW's aren't in the same realm as him.

Naz Reid averaged 4 less minutes per game and put up virtually the exact same stats as Watford. The difference is that Naz is much bigger, could guard big guys better, and he could shoot from the outside extremely well...and he went undrafted

13 allowed scholarships

12 current players on scholarship (including Josh LeBlanc in this number because he’s already enrolled)

3 seniors = 9 returnees and 4 scholarships for sure available

5 additional commits/signees

Puts us one over right now. Would have to lose three players to sign two more.

That would mean 8 of 13 next year are new with only one senior. That’s a lot of roster churn.

He’s a completely different player than Reid, and is seen as a much better pro prospect, hence why he shows up somewhere in every 2 round mock since the beginning of the year. I’m not comparing him to Simmons, “since Simmons” means he’s the best we’ve have after Simmons was gone, which isn’t saying much since we haven’t had anyone picked in the first round since. You say he’s got a below average shot but he’s got a fluid shooting stroke and has above average coordination so teams will see his shot as a plus, they won’t care about his 3% as much as you think.

Ummm go look at Naz Reid's projections last year. And Trendon is not in "every" mock.

It's not that he can't develop a shot, but it's not there now. His best attribute is his ability to handle the ball, but he can't distribute very well and has lots of turnovers.

Once the season started, he wasn’t in mocks. All the mocks I’ve looked at include Watford in the early second. Everyone knew Reid wasn’t getting drafted, Watford has a legit chance to go round one this late. I’m honestly not sure how you can argue different

Watford, Smart & Williams - I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 declare for the draft.

I'd be happy to have Smart return.
Pretty sure Watford and Williams go pro and Cooper will likely leave.
He gets no PT. So, there's 3 that way too.

What in the world...Did you follow LSU basketball last year? People honestly thought he could be drafted in the first. There were absolutely mocks of him in the 1st and virtually no mock ever had him NOT drafted. I can show you multiple mocks where Trendon isn’t being drafted let alone not in the 1st...so you ask how I can argue different? See below

I think it’s important you are aware because I don’t think you know. Here is an Advocate article that summarized the mocks prior to the draft in June. Advocate

Out of the 6 mock drafts, 1 first round, 1 undrafted, the other 4 predicted he would be one of the top 8 taken in the second round.
