Geez LSU just reloads! Expect to be ranked #1 at the start of next season. The powerhouse of college baseball is in great hands with Jay

Reminds me of Saban following up tBear at Alabama. There’s still plenty fans that are going to be shocked when Jay finishes up at LSU with as many titles as Skip

With the transfer portal he could surpass Skip in a shorter amount of time. Skip never had the luxury of poaching the Danny Dickinson’s, Luis Hernandez’s or Eyanson’s and Cowan’s from lower schools at will like JJ does. Skip had to build the hard way and as long as JJ keeps winning he can poach whomever he wants.
Thats no slap at JJ, he adjusted to the new landscape better and faster than other coaches.

Most, if not all, of Skips tenure had free transfers

In the 90’s they still had to sit out a year unless they got a hardship which wasn’t given much. Not the same

In the 1990s, college baseball did not have "free transfers" as they are understood today. Athletes transferring between Division I schools were generally required by the NCAA to sit out a year of competition.
Exceptions existed, such as hardship waivers, but they were not common.
It is important to note that the rules have changed. The NCAA transfer portal, which streamlines the transfer process, was introduced in 2018. The current rules, including the one-time transfer exception that allows immediate eligibility in many cases, were not in place during the 1990s.
Therefore, transfers in college baseball in the 90s were not "free" regarding immediate eligibility and freedom of movement as seen in recent years.

False. Baseball was a non-revenue sport and had free transfer. Sitting out a year didn’t start until some time in the 2000s.
