Are you saying he doesn't pitch much, and doesn't pitch the whole game?
Or that it is rare that he starts the game and doesn't finish it?

LINK Video that has some footage of the game and post-game interviews.
Lutcher defeated my hometown team, DeRidder, 11-1.
"All of DeRidder’s first nine outs came on the receiving end of a Poche strikeout, often on a massive 12-6 breaking ball."

. Another stud on the staff this year is Corey Merill, he signed with SELU.
Corey signed with Tulane.

Kids good but doesn't throw 90. IMO Merrill is just as good.

Correect, Poche' throws left, but bats right.
Throws upper 80s, when I saw him scouts said he topped out at 89.
He is a work horse. In Lutcher's three postseason wins I believe he started and finished all three games. Against Lakeshore, he threw 130 pitches I believe.
I saw Nola pitch in HS too. He is NOT in Nola's class. Nola threw as hard, but had better command and more pitches he could throw for strikes.
Poche's is a strong kid, he's thrown a lot of innings, and he usually threw once a week which is normal for a top high school and college starting pitcher.
He'll walk a few too many, but with men on base he goes right after hitters and gets himself out of jams.

I have a little brother on the DeRidder team...he said the kid was nasty...that it seemed like he was throwing a lot harder than he really was and that every pitch he threw was heavy...said guys almost had trouble finishing swings....not afraid to run righties way inside.

I disagree. I'd take JP over Corey any day. They are both great players and great kids. And if you're wondering, I coached both of them in little league. I always saw something special in JP. Don't be surprised if he's LSU's Sunday starter next year. And it's a shame PM won't let him hit. Dude can rake.

I was told PM would let him hit.

He rarely starts a game and doesn't finish.
And I made a mistake, Merill did sign with Tulane.
And whoever said Merill and Poche are on the same level, their own coach will tell you otherwise. Merill has been having arm problems and just doesn't have the confidence in himself to be as good as he could be. But, even then, he still isn't as good a Jared, still good, but Jared has the edge.

Corey Merill has signed with TULANE last I heard, not Southeastern.
