I know he's a '27, but Jordin Griffin appears to be having a much better season (purely based on twitter clips) as a junior.

lol yea you could say that, he is batting well over 400 and ton of homeruns and honestly, the south wind that blows in from right field at barbe and sulphur has cost him at least 5 homeruns. in the first game against SH in Sulphur there was a 25-30 mph wind and both balls he hit would have been out without the wind.

i still think he ends up at lsu just because of height. But bat speed, throwing velo and overall speed are off the charts. Really really good kid too.

Kade Anderson will start the season in AA with the Arkansas Travelers. The industry expectation is that he will move relatively quickly.

Any 2028, 2029 and 2030 Louisiana kids to keep an eye on?

2028 i know of the sam houston kids, mainly Brock Blessington who is ranked #1 right now in the state. Also the Dufrene kid from JC and Conley kid from the Fountainblue

2029 I know of the two barbe kids and they are legit AF. Especially Zaylon, he has been hurt but will be back soon. was up to 91.2 in the fall and is very very young for the class. Talon moved from Texas, he will be an absolute stud when said and done.

Also the Davis and Dugas kids are dudes.

This is a very very good in state class and is still trending that away. Very similar to the 2027 class, maybe not quite as top heavy.

2030 is kind of too early right now as the pbr state rankings have not been released yet. Not the strongest class in state but has pockets. PG released their initial rankings and I dont have access to the full top 100 but in the top 50 no louisiana kids.

But Tyler Early, who lives in the Tomball area, is ranked #1 and he grew up in Alexandria area and moved when he was 11 to houston area.

The best two kids in state I know of right now are Chayse Frierson, huge kid, very very young but tons of upside. Parents and brothers are very tall and he is already up to 83-84 as a 13 year old 8th grader.

The other is Ayden Barnes from Alexandria area, very very smooth fielder and good bat. Not overwhelming on the physical side but as of now is the most skilled player in state that i have seen.

Texas has an outstanding 2030 class. If we can snag a few....we will be looking very good.

2031 class is a monster in state though and is trending to be the deepest class in years but they are still only 13 in 7th grade but this has been the deepest class across the state at all age levels for a while and has held true for years now.

one thing to keep in mind about 2030 and 2031....they are still very young, anything can happen. What looks very strong on paper, can disappear in 2-3 years. honestly same with 2029.

Anthony Eyanson will begin the season in High A with the Greenville Drive.

ETA: Also on that Greenville team are Marcus Phillips from Tennessee and Kyson Witherspoon from Oklahoma. Pretty good starting rotation.

Eunice plays 4 games at Delgado this weekend starting tonight. I may try to pop in to one or a few of those games.

Eunice has some kids with super gaudy stats. Outside of Clapinski and Louque, I'm not really familiar with them even though they're in state kids.

Delgado is far less impressive, but I'm familiar with Arencibia and Grab on the mound, and have some familiarity with Rowell.

Who are you interested in?

Clapinski, Louque, Arencibia are the main ones.

Luna and Bergeron from LSUE are others. I don’t Bergeron is playing every day anymore though.

Noted.

Denny for Delgado was originally a Tulane kid. I liked him as a high school player at Jesuit.

Mouton's hitting stats for LSUE are stupid. They have a few interesting arms, too.

I just don't know how much, if at all, many of these kids project to big D1 and that includes Clapinski. Louque and Arencibia are good prospects. If healthy, Louque could even be a pitching prospect. Arencibia could hit a bit, too.

Denny was 4 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBIs. Arrencibia went the distance, 2 hits, 1 walk, 8 punchies. Louque had 1 of the hits off of Arencibia, Mouton had the other. 10-0 Delgado in game 1.

Arencibia is committed to UNO, not sure if he signed anything or not. Pro scouts are scouting him.
