I actually had that and then deleted it.

I don't think Jay is going to try and fix something that isn’t broken, and I don’t think Curiel forces a move or really needs to.

but wouldn’t be shocked

Thought Jay already said Curiel was playing CF.

C - Arrambide
1B - Simpson
2B - Dardar
3B - Carraway
SS - Milam
LF - Stanfield
CF - Curiel
RF - Brown
DH - Yorke

I think Pearson/Harden/Serna/Reaves/ all get a ton of run, and then there's usually a freshman that makes an unexpected jump into the lineup.

Raves at DH? Feel like one of the transfers would lock that spot up for sure.

Missing Dardar. If this is Day 1 lineup and CJJ showing loyalty to Reaves then maybe but thats not really his style.

The Sr transfer is somewhere in the lineup before SEC play.

I definitely think the only things set right now are the OF, SS and probably catcher (assuming nobody makes a lot more noise this fall/spring over Arrambide). Will be interesting to see how 1B, 2B, 3B and DH all shake out. Definitely some solid competition there between the transfers and returners.

I just think Dardar is legit.

Against CCU, LSU and Texas he was 6/16 3 HR 1 BB and that was facing Flukey, Morrison, Anderson and Riojas

There are a lot of candidates right now. Pearson, Braun, Yamin, Harden and Serna are likely candidates as well.

Harden is my yearly "that guy is an incredible athlete please get him at bats" guy. The issue with him is we're returning the entire outfield and have about 5 viable DH/1B candidates.

Last year it was Stanfield. 7 years ago it was Rankin Woley, 6 years ago it was Dugas, 4 years ago it was Mo Hampton Doesn't always pan out, but when it does, it's fun.

Harden is still raw in the outfield despite his athleticism. I see him right now as a potential DH regardless of outfield returners. He’s at LSU for a left handed power bat in the lineup. Not saying he couldn’t turn into a good outfielder, just based on what he was at McLennan .

C Arrambide with Serna getting a game each week.
1B Simpson/York
2B Dardar/Simpson
3B Caraway
SS Milam
LF Curiel
CF Stanfield
RF Brown
DH York/Simpson/Dardar/Reaves/Serna

I think 1B and 2B comes down to who handles the defense best. The odd man out will DH most of the time. Glad we have some RHH options now.

Yeah, I see it very similar. Ton of vets in that lineup.

Exactly. Jay has valued + defense at the 1B position, and I'm not sure if York is a better defender than Simpson there. He's certainly not as good of an athlete. That's why I see him DHing.

I feel like it’s Sebastian Castillo, but that’s a hunch

ETA: maybe Lucas Nawrocki

There will be some JUCO baseball at the Box this weekend. I've seen LSUE, Pearl River, and Chipola listed with games there. Starting at like 9am Friday. I know there are other teams that will be there, but those three alone would make for a fun watch.

Nice get. I looked into him when you mentioned him the other day. Reminds me of Bregman. Could be a day 1 starter-type if he makes it to campus.
