I thought the same thing but if it's the LSU Barnes and Noble maybe it's to let them get some gear or see the LSU bookstore as part of the campus tour

That's what it is. I've seen the women's basketball coaches in there with recruits on a football gameday before.

Just saw on Prep baseball LA that Pruitt committed to the Cajuns

Told y’all to watch out for them. No scholarship money at LSU or a decent chunk of change at ULL. He’s a high upside guy so maybe he eventually makes his way to BR

ULL is grabbing a lot of in state guys. The only downside is that if they pop, they're not likely to get to Baton Rouge. From other schools, yeah, but ULL and Tech just doesn't seem likely.

I like some of the pitchers that have ended up or are on their way to Southern Miss too, but I wonder if even they would make their way back here.

I know 1 would for sure, but yeah I see what you’re saying. My thinking is that Pruitt is a little more of an LSU fan than most

Gunner Leger, pitching coach, is the draw for in state pitchers at ULL right now even though he’s in year 2 as a pitching coach . Same at Southern Miss with coach Ostrander. Jay has said that he is watching Leger as a possible pitching coach in the future and thinks highly of him.

Fall Signing day is coming up , probably will see some more de commits happening like Pruitt . That time of the year .

They also added Myles LeDoux from Barbe. He never heard from LSU. Aggie was after him but glad he decided to stay in state and away from the weirdos.

That kind of thing is why I'm thankful for the new recruiting rules. No one should have been committing anywhere so early.

With the new 34 man roster starting in 2025, you will see less local Top HS 2025 recruits go directly to the SEC. They don't have time to develop, they must be ready to walk in year one and contribute. Hard for most of these 18 yr old guys to beat out 20-22 year old's. SEC will be basically free agency every summer and they will be "buying" new rosters each year out of the portal. It is the new landscape of Power 4 athletics. Mid Majors will reap the benefit of getting these talented kids, at least for 1-2 years until they get bought by an SEC program.
Things are definitely changing.

Yup. Jay said it himself. Can't build a program any longer. Lots of roster turnover every year. This will be the new normal for the big boys.

yep

i wanted to note one thing that i have heard multiple times from HS coaches...is that ULL and Tech are looked at as great developmental programs especially ULL and that they look at the SEC programs, especially LSU, Tenner, Vandy, Arky as pretty you must be able to play year 1 or dont waste your time, period. In LSU & Tenner case This was mostly the viewpoint because of who they were bringing in and how they are recruiting nationally.

this view point is only going to be magnified with the new rules...but the new rules are going to get a lot more guys transferring after 2 years to the big boys for sure

I cant say the view point is wrong either, atleast in last 2 years. places like ULL, Southern Miss, DBU, UConn. College of Charleston etc seem to be better at the developmental portion because they have to be. They have to take more chances and the big boys have to take zero chances, none.

I think myles made a great decision. I didnt expect him to end up at a place like LSU even though he is in state.

I'm just realizing left handed pitching is going to be a portal priority next year.
