Unfortunately, Jones may be going, and I don't think Frey is durable enough to be behind the plate on a regular basis.

I think a pitchers stats are more nuisance than a hitter stats..I think we get excited about a pitchers stuff because ERAs can be slightly inflated based on context

The 64analytics computer values competition way more than it should. SEC guys are getting major boosts for out of conference stats just because they are on an SEC team.

I wasn't too impressed with what I saw from Brown in limited time on the mound during scrimmages. His stuff was OK, but he was clearly behind Anderson.

I prefer developing Brown the position player myself, but perhaps the coaches might see it differently if there is a lack of LHP after the dust settles.

The pop from the line up likely needs to come from 1B, 3B, at least one corner outfield spot, Catcher, and DH. I expect Milam to hit 10 HR from 2nd base next year.
I think Jay is really counting on Larson to be a 15+ homer guy next year, which I think he can be.

Really hoping we get two of Fountain, Arambide, and Costello on campus. Costello had something like 15 HR in 48 at bats as a senior, close to breaking Trout's NJ record. He's a left handed bat that is being seriously slept on IMO.

People probably don't want to hear this but if things play out well in the draft, 2026 should be the year you look for a title. Could have the most power in the country on that team.

Then there's the indiana state transfer and hopefully we find one more power bat in the portal for '25.

Was not impressed with Priester's defense first time around. Maybe he has improved there.

Has become a much improved defender. Not going to be a world beater but he moves much better than Neal and definitely keeps balls in front better. Don’t think he’s as advanced as Neal as a receiver but he isn’t going to let 4 pitches a game bounce out of his glove and to the backstop. I’ve seen clips of him in the 1KD position that everyone loves so much but i’ve also seen some with him in a traditional 2 heel down position.

I think '26 will be the year more so than next year myself. Still too many missing pieces to say for sure though.

The '25 team is going to be quite the experiment with all of the turnover.

15 HRs from Larson may be a bit high. I would say 10+ is more realistic, but 15 not impossible.

Hope he has improved defensively. His power is definitely there.

They wanted to keep Neal, it wasn’t a performance thing. He’s going to be a guy well envy when he’s playing well somewhere else, despite lsu taking all of his development lumps

They wanted to keep him no doubt simply because we don't have much depth there. But they also weren't going to hand him and promise him anything either.

Neal’s tools are loud & hard to miss. His shine became jaded for a number of reasons & people just seemed to lack patience due to his rating coming in

I don't math well, but I think Neal homers like once every 12 ABs or so. I'll happily take a player like that who likely improves.

He's my biggest regret of anyone entering the portal, but still not going to get upset over it.

I did the math the other day. If jones leaves Neal was the returning leader in all important power categories. HR, Iso, slg, ab/hr

Correct.

He had 3 in 67 ABs this season, so once every 22 ABs.

ETA: That was last season. He did hit 1 every 12 ABs this past season.

Glenn West said this weekend was an NCAA dead period for portal visit, so that Root and Kilen hooplah was false

Larson has a swing built to hit home runs, he just needs the extra weight and muscle. I lost count on the amount of deep fly outs to straight away center he hit. He adds a couple more mph to the exit velo and those go out.

Again though, only 2 in 53 AB against SEC/postseason competition.

Neal tore up the easy competition but really disappeared against the better competition. Probably one of the biggest differences of anyone on the team.

Neal has a power tool, he just wasn't able to use it against the better teams on the schedule. If he could have shown that he wouldn't have been taken out the lineup so much later in the year. They definitely gave him plenty of opportunity even working him in the OF this past seaaon.

Neal might wow you one at bat out of 15/20 at bats but it was all the other at bats that did nothing to move the offense
On top of that his defense with lack of blocking and receiving skills that didn’t help the pitching staff
