This is neither here nor there, but a tidbit about Josh Jordan and his eye for talent: two guys from his 2020 Duke recruiting class that were taken in 5 round draft made the majors this year. Two years after their pro debut. Jordan Walker of the Cardinals and Evan Carter of the Rangers.

Glad it's here now, and not there.

Hal seems like the type of player who would make a great coach.

Looks like Cam Johnson is scheduled to pitch in the Cape Cod league this summer. Profile link
Disregard the listed school in the profile, all the other info lines up with our Cam Johnson.
ETA: Ethan Frey is scheduled to be there too. Both on Chatham.

Does anyone know when the fall intrasquad scrimmages start?

Sime was up to 99 at the WWBA over the weekend.

Who are the early front runners for :
Third outfielder with Kling and Pearson…..
Bingham? Or maybe Frey/ Ruddell
And the other MIF next to Braswell? Guidry possibly if he’s gonna be a position player?

Bingham is starting somewhere that’s a given

Frey will be DH or 1st
Man this team looks deep on paper. Glad JJ has tough choices and competition.

Kinda figured DH and 1st would be wrapped up by Jones and Travinski

That’s true. Frey is in a rough spot as he looks like he could be very good but we are just stacked at his positions.

I just don't know how well or how long it will take to translate to SEC ball. Says he sees mostly 82-86 mph currently. How long is it going to take for him to adjust to a LHP throwing 97 with sink and then a wipeout slider? US HS kids are often seeing more velocity than that and even they struggle in college.

That baw weighs 250 already. He’d be at 275 in a month eating real food

JUCO Catcher to keep an eye on, and a somewhat surprising one at that: Blaise Priester.
ETA: We're almost 100% likely to sign a JUCO catcher for next year (the 2024 class). The portal is a little too fickle when you try to wait for it to address specific positions. And there are some really talented JUCO catchers on our radar.
