We have 3 in Ware, Primeaux, and Anderson. Brown with a maybe. Bronzini is in the portal but still uncommitted.
They have a few LH arms left in the portal but not sure if any are worth taking that can help right away. Maybe Adam Hachman from Arkansas that was injured.

We have 3 lefties. Certainly another one would help, but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we rolled with the staff as is. There are RHPs capable of having good reverse splits, especially if they have a good change up.
I don't know of any specific candidates on this staff, just saying it's a possibility.
ETA: If we need a late add LHP we could dip into the JUCO ranks for a rising sophomore like Sawyer Simmons at LSUE or someone similar. I mention him specifically because he's one we're evaluating.

Realistically, do they have any decent left handed arms in the portal or would it be a waste?
Pickings are extremely slim
Jared Spencer from Indiana St just got drafted so he's probably out, same with Riley Huge from Winthrop
There's Nick Moran from Liberty...Sam Boyle from Washington neither to get much excited about
There's a number of lower division guys with solid numbers but coming from DII/DIII not sure we're on any of them really
There's Adam Hachman from Arkansas who didnt pitch there last year but was a high end recruit from 2023 class. He was injured. I feel like if you think he's healthy enough to pitch next season you may as well just roll the dice there as he probably has way more potential than anyone else out there.

With the OF depth we have I would really like to see them put Brown back on the mound. Let him throw in the fall and spring.
The problem would be needing him for possibly matchup type situations. So if he is playing a starting OF role that will be hard to do.

I’d re-recruit Javen Coleman back

I'm still confused as to why he didn't sign with the Dodgers in 2023.

Hopefully back to the rant where bad takes are the standard

i’d rather a good RHP than a shitty LHP.
But you need options for when some players are terrible vs lefties.
If anderson starts, we have very few LOOGY options.

Yea I kinda feel bad for him. He probably bought into the Yeskie being the LHP whisperer shite

Or he probably thought he could produce with another year out from injury to better his stock and it just didn't work out for him.

that and maybe feeling stronger an additional year his surgery.
I could definitely see the thought process being “ok most pitchers aren’t back that next year. Let’s see how do 20+ months post surgery.

I like something closer to:
8. Stanfield
9. Braswell
1. Milam
2. Dickinson
3. Jones
Curious who you have catching in this scenario that is hitting higher in the lineup. Braswell should be around 5-7 in the lineup IMO

The question I have is, if it gets down to it and you have to decide between Brown and Larson, who are you rolling with? Brown seems like he has a higher ceiling, but Larson just keeps hitting. Not really sure how you can keep Larson out of the lineup, especially since he has proven he can produce in the SEC.
CJJ has his hands full which is a great problem to have.

Feel like guys like Schmidt/Harden might be asked to stay in JUCO while guys like Mic Paul/Griffin Cooley/Dylan Thompson may have some decisions to make on if they stick around.
Can see this with Hardin becuase he’s further away from helping but Schmidt announced on Instagram he’s heading to LSU so he’s coming it appears and I think can compete.

I assume jay will let whoever is hitting between Brown, Larson, Pearson, Stanford and Curiel hit.
I don’t know if anyone has cemented their spot in the lineup.
As much as jay loves Pearson he hasn’t taken any steps forward.

Hate to harp on it but a .323 average with a .746 OPS for Larson is a continuation of what we saw during the season. No way .323 should equate to .746. He's got to increase his extra base hits and walks.

I know Jay mentioned building the best team year over year vs building the program, but T Schmidt and Yamin seem more like long term plays. Depth for next year, but contributors in 2026.
The redundancies we have with Bear, Frey, Yamin, Hernandez, Schmidt, Costello, Beck, and Reeves are crazy. There just won't be enough PAs to go around.

We are bringing back/in 150 homers. This team is going to be scary to navigate multiple times through the order

I'm not sure he will be able to compete coming in. I can name 5 players I'd rather put at 1B before him and he is even further back on the DH list.
Like project said, he seems more of a play for 2026 and I'm still not completely convinced that younger guys won't pass him up then.
