You've got to imagine that anyone with a big enough name to cause waves would probably already be soft committed to their next school

Maybe it's Laviolette back to the portal and committed to LSU. Lol

I’m going to go with Grant Knipp pulls his name from the draft and commits to LSU. The “sizable ripple” is the other SEC programs crapping their pants.

Who is Nolan Wilson again?

In 2023 & 2024, primarily a DH. Second position OF. Lastly, a very seldom used Catcher

DH: 54 starts
RF: 34 starts
C: 8 starts
LF: 1 start

It'll probably be Ethan Petry to Florida or something. Probably didn't pass the prerequisite defensive test issued by Mainieri and was told to look around.

Petry crossed my mind. Is it 30 days since your coach was fired, or new coach is hired for a player to enter the portal? Mainieri accounted as HC on June 11.

Some pretty substantial news incoming for the portal that could create a sizeable ripple in the SEC. Should break soon, just not ours to communicate.

Sounds like it could be a coaching change.

3 coaching moves that wouldn’t surprise me:
1-Wes Johnson bored and goes back to MLB
2-Bianco retiring

As a result of 1 or 2, Mingione going to the school the other coach left.

Unfortunately at this point it looks like multiple roster spots will be catcher that could maybe catch and no for sure catchers other than Priester.

I wonder if we are out completely on Bear Harrison at this point.

When I think ripple for the conference, I feel like it is referring to a coach, so I think you are on to something.

Bianco would make sense. They are going to suck again next year. Wes just got a raise and extension and has been going nuts in the portal. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Herring is the one who could improve his stock because at this point he’s only proven himself to be a reliever and there’s literally zero MLB relievers now who sit 91-92, even lefties. But if he proves he can throw 6-7 innings then I could see him being a Patrick Corbin type guy.

This I true but it will put Herring at 22 years old at the next draft. By the time he ramps up his throwing, he likely won’t pitch in very many games next year. That would put him turning 23 at the very beginning of his first full year of pro ball. Agents/advisors often advise against this. And they work off of commission so you would think if hey do advise against this, they believe the short of term payout of an increased bonus the next year is not worth delaying the start of your pro career.

That's lame if that's what was hyped up.

Now if this is indicative of Corbin retiring, then it's worth hyping.

My exact thoughts lol. A pitcher out of the big 10 with a 4.8 ERA and 8K/9 is a “sizable ripple”?
