Landon Victorian pitched two innings for the Green Bay Rockers in the Northwoods league last night. Listed as being from LSU. Decent results. I’m about to watch it and see how he did.

Watch Northwoods League Games
For those wanting to watch Victorian. Use the link, sign up for free access, then search for Green Bay Rockers games, you have to go down to the older videos to find the archived games. He started the game, it starts at around the 14 minute mark.

Struck out the first two in the 1st inning, then walked the next two. Then got the final out on a pop up.

Seemed to me he was throwing fastball, slider, and curve. Mostly fastball. Catcher seemed to have trouble catching up to it. It didn't show speed so not sure how fast.

Its really hard to see how ole miss is going to be able to compete next hear. Feels like bianco is a dead man walking. They shouldve done that deed after this season

Actually its uc san diego. A team that had a helluva year and wouldve been in the mix to make regionals if they wouldve been eligible

Are they going to be ineligible again next year too? Probably wants to go some place he can actually play in the tournament at.

If Knipp somehow made it to LSU... he raked as a catcher but his future is likely on the mound. He is ranked #269 from Joe Doyle (FSS), not ranked in the top 250 for MLB Pipeline. He is older so he may just want to get started, but will be interesting to see if he commits somewhere before the draft or if he is going to wait like Bingham did.

Also would be interesting to see how he is used next year if he makes it to a campus. I would assume he would have to be promised mound innings. Catch and close?

quote:

269 RHP/C
Grant Knipp
Campbell
HOMETOWN: Louisville, KY

HEIGHT: 6-2

WEIGHT: 220

BAT/THROW: R-R

Knipp epitomizes "raw power". At the plate, he boasts some of the loudest exit velocity data you can find in the Big South with a bat-to-ball hole at top of the zone. It may only be a 30-grade hit, but the power really plays. That said, his future could be on the mound. Already touching 98 with a developing slider, scouts like the arm talent and projection as a future leverage arm in an MLB bullpen. He'll be 22.7 for the draft, so leverage won't be on his side, but his stuff has certainly jumped the last calendar year and scouts have taken notice.

Its a 4 year classification period when you transfer to d1. Their 4 year trial ended on july 1st. So they should be eligible next year. Id imagine he just wants the big stage for his draft year

With Benge being added, and adding Thompson (RS) and Lape (medical) to the list, by my count we are around 20 pitchers if (big if) Herring and Hayden come back. I have taken Ulloa off the list, but he is still in the mix to come back. It's also possible Ware or Cowan are drafted as both are eligible. Certainly there could be a surprise either way from the HS ranks as well.

1. Gavin Guidry
2. Kade Woods
3. Jaden Noot
4. Kade Anderson
5. Chase Shores
6. Griffin Herring***
7. DJ Primeaux
8. Dylan Thompson
9. Trevor Lape
10 .Zac Cowan
11. Luke Hayden***
12. Jacob Mayers
13. Devin Sheerin
14. Chandler Dorsey
15. Conner Benge
16. Mav RIzy
17. Connor Ware***
18. Stunnar Gonzalez
19. Landon Victorian
20. Cason Evans

If Eyeanson were added we would be at 21, and probably still need to add at least one LHP. Getting close to being done from the pitching side in the portal I would assume with 1-2 more adds. Did I forget anyone?

Projected Rotation:
Friday: Herring***
Saturday: Shores
Sunday: Anderson/Cowan/Sheerin/Noot/Hayden/Mayers

Just get him to BR. We’ve seen what former catchers with strong arms can turn into.

if Herring comes back and takes a starting spot I could see Anderson being our Left handed fireman reliever.

Doing what Herring and Cooper would do. We just need a lefty reliever like that

I do think that would make alot of sense - that would give us Anderson and Ware out of the bullpen matchup wise.

it will be interesting to see but he was making quality relief appearances at the end of the season.

He obviously will be in the mix to start too. But if we go I ti next year with only Herring, Ware and Anderson as LHP I wouldnt be surprised if 2/3 end up in long relief if there are Sunday options.

I cant see anderson not starting. If he isnt, that means herring, shores, and one of these transfers are all lighting it up for us as starters, and we are just stacked

What’s the deal with Fischer from Ole Miss? Thought he was a lock for Tennessee? Kinda reminds me how everyone assumed Tommy Tanks was headed for a Florida school and then CJJ came in and got it done. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.
