“bought in”.

He used this phrase several times during the season as well as in the post season press conference. Tells me he thought there were several who were not. I don’t think he wanted as much roster turnover as we’re getting. But I also think he’s not going to have patience for players that are looking out for their own interests above all else.

Yea between Jay’s comments and Josh Jordan’s tweet, I think it’s safe to conclude certain things about some of the kids transferring out.

This thread is the only thing that keeps me going when the season ends. Figured I could do a small part to contribute to our addiction.

Based on the number of times I refresh this thread every offseason, it’s working.

Root planning to visit Auburn. Was really hoping we’d get that one locked up…

I was told he had a real good visit here. Was kind of hoping we had locked him down as well.

I do think some of this is on Jay though. He gave a TON of starts to guys who simply weren't performing: Kling, Neal, Pearson, and Bingham. I get Kling and Neal because you hope it finally clicks and they reach their potential, but Pearson and Bingham shouldn't have been starting as much as they were. Those four combined for 170 starts (and would've been more if Neal's back wasn't so bad). With how mediocre the offense was most of the season, I understand how some younger players might be looking elsewhere when they can't even get an AB but those guys are starting 60% of games.

Probably hard to buy in when you might as well not even be on the team. Especially when you struggle as much as we did early in SEC play.

Yea the best way to prevent this :

Recruit better
Develop better

If Kling or neal were good there’d be no issue with staying

If Kling and Neal were good -- not great, just good-- we're probably in the CWS tbh.

No doubt that some of the issues on this years team were Jay’s doing. I think you’re going to see a different approach going forward though in that regard.

I have a hard time believing that Pearson is going anywhere. His draft stock is low and his brother is coming to town.

Probably overreacting, but Davis going to UGA is disappointing and concerning.

He wasn’t a Holman or Jump and we didn’t lose him to Florida or Arkansas.
