To be fair, there were no doubts going in to this season with the pitching staff. We had like 5 or 6 guys who were top 100 prospects in their class.

Agreed. But, we will still have alot of the same guys out again next season, losing Skenes and more, plus I believe Jay understands the need for even more depth now (bc you really can't project injuries or even development). We should bring in alot of experienced arms, hopefully a splash or 2, to go with the freshman coming in.
The pitch to Montgomery is the same as it was to Skenes and White. Come here and be whatever you want to be, and we'll draw up the blueprint for it. If he wants to showcase his pitching more, fine, we already have to draw something like that up for Guidry and maybe even Jake Brown. If he wants to come here and focus almost exclusively on pitching, fine, we wrote that book for Skenes. If he just wants to come here to play a position, name the position and we'll make it happen like we did with White.

In other news cam camanitti shoved it again at his latest start. Up to 96 from left side. # 1 pick in 2025. Don’t think he makes it to campus

D1 baseball is reporting that we have heavy interest in Wehiwa Aloy.

That could be your SS right there.
His stats matchup up favorably to Jacob Wilson. Not the only striking out 5x, but everything else.

He’s one I’ve kept up with for a while from doing some stat-page scouting of smaller conferences.

I was lookng at his HS profile. Listed as 5'5" and 105 lbs. Looks like he is 10 years old in the photo. 6.5 grade.
Then I looked at is 2023 profile and he is listed as 6'1" and doesn't look skinny.

He’s being courted by the usual suspects (Ark, Ten, Miss St)
Tuesday is the day this opens up.

From what I’m told the number one target is the kid from Iowa that throws 100

Never saw a reason for him to enter the portal, but if he does I hope we go after him.

I think it's possible when you blow up like him you may want to join one of the better baseball programs. Seems enticing enough to be a star at LSU over Iowa, but I'm not him and I realize Iowa is home. Might value the idea of winning a championship.

He didn’t just blow up though. He would have been a high round pick out of high school if not for football. He’s been on the radar for a long time.

Looks like he was a top 100 player out of HS, so fair point. He seems to have progressed nicely from his Fresh to Soph year. From pitching around 22 innings to 70 innings as a starter. I guess I just mean he really showed he was the real deal this season at the college level.
I think you are right though. Why leave if he chose to stay home? I guess we'll see.
