With the lack of arms available next year due to injury it should be pretty easy to convince the best arms from the portal to come compete for a starting job. That is unless they get spooked from the amount of arm injuries we’ve had.

The very best arms in the portal will want to come to LSU after what has happened with Skenes. And this is what Jay Johnson wants to continue doing. He has said this.

Portal shortstop on the radar, Owen Fuller from Baylor. Redshirting this year, originally from California.

ETA: from JSerra HS, where we’ve recruited and currently have commits from.

I am pretty sure Pellegrin’s parents both went to LSU as well.

not sure who you are talking about unless you are thinking JC Vaneck? that was a while back

from LC area for 2023

jake Brown(sulphur)
dylan thompson(sam houston)
griffen cooley(kinder)

Jakes grades are fine from what i was told and knowing the family, could never imagine them not being good, great family and great kid.

not sure about the others.

Definitely not Jake. Pretty sure Thompson but it did not seem like it was grades but maybe so. I was never really told why but I think he has a history so no one seemed really surprised. I didn’t ask questions.

I think Taylor and Noot will both be available maybe midway through next season.

FWIW…While I was with my son getting autographs during the Tennessee series, I asked Noot when we would see him pitching at the Box. He said “About a year, same as Coleman this year”.

not surprising to be honest. i felt he was the weakest in the class this year anyways but with the frame has a ton of potential.

I think alot of SH as a program and Chad as a coach, but from the outside looking in, always seems the kids from SH have issues and are not always the best off the field.

Like i said, that is simply observation from outside looking in and I 100% could be wrong on that.

A little surprising, Sawyer Pruitt from Live Oak (2025 RHP) just committed to Ole Miss. Surprising to me in that I thought he would take the recruiting timeline farther in search of football offers.

Damn, the few videos I saw of Thompson, I really like his actions. He was going to grow into his body & become a really good player

I would say leverage but Bianco being a ex LSU guy kind of makes me think he intends to stick.

I wouldn't say anything about what his commitment means in terms of the draft considering it's 27 months away.

Leverage with LSU not the draft.

This isn't football or basketball recruiting. That's not really how this works.

You think a kid will commit to an SEC school, specifically one that just won a national championship, just to somehow extort a better offer from LSU?

That's who I was referring to. And I don't know the kid or his family. A guy involved in baseball around LC told me the day after he committed to LSU that if he didn't start taking school more serious, he would end up in JUCO. Said he wasn't a bad kid or that he wasn't bright. He just wasn't taking his academics serious at all. Never thought twice about it until I saw your earlier post and it jarred my memory.

Does he already have a committable offer to LSU in baseball? And nobody is extorting anything it just creates the perception of demand.

Neither you nor I can answer that.

Or, like we've done with nearly every player we've recruited in the last 15 years, and just say "next" and move on.

We've "flipped" two guys from SEC schools, not including coaching change years, in the last decade. Jacob Pearson from Mississippi State and CJ Willis from Ole Miss.

It just doesn't happen. The kid commmitted to Ole Miss because he wants to go there, not to make himself seem more valuable to LSU.
