Auburn just lost a JUCO recruit to a late UDFA signing. Guy signed for $238K as a UDFA.

dumb question but I'm assuming there's no deadline for UDFA signings?

This is big. This kid is a stud. Best pitcher in the state and a future high pick

One of the perils of offering 8th graders and fr before you see the finished product especially in baseball, that trend needs to go away.

kids mature and develop at different times especially as they progress through high school

they committed Ruckert and Breaux from Catholic but neither have really dominated at the high school level to this point

Schmidt wasn't rated as high as those two but has ended up the much better prospect with team usa involvement

Catholic has a few other players that have actually outpaced Breaux and Ruckert at the high school level

That went away a year ago.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I though the new rule in baseball is you can’t offer kids until sophomore or junior year now

I don't know the exact language, but I know that with the rule change they've only been able to contact the 2025s since August 1st. I guess that's technically summer before junior year then?

I didn't know kids were supposed to dominate as freshman and sophomores. You don't have to hit .600 to have tools to be a good prospect.

I didn’t see anything on Twitter but the State board posted it and someone via the On3 site. he deleted all his State stuff on social media sites and his PG profile says he’s not committed.

language says going forward, no contact with any prospect, committed or uncommitted, before august 1st of the junior year

no contact means no offer.

love the rule and its an awesome thing for both the schools and the players. no pressure on players and allows them to develop

for schools allows them to see them against top competition and takes the pressure off of having to be the first to offer. biggest thing though it allows the schools to see who is going to develop physically and really work their asses off on skills and in the weight room.

Why wouldn't they? The Pac 12 will still exist for the upcoming season.

I stand corrected. So the conference will be done by next year at this time I guess

looking at some summer league stats, Josh Stevenson hit .181 in the Cape and BB/K was 5/40

no offers, but I know they just had some Marucci World Series events at Alex Box 2 weekends ago. A ton of 26/27/28 kids were on campus. Can recruits initiate contact? Not sure, but that was one of the questions when the new rules first came out. I admittedly have not followed the developments of that.

Also not sure if this is new or not, but Josh Jordan has been posting this QR code for recruits to contact them

My son played in the MWS. There were only a handful of games at the Box each day. Most of the games were spread out all over the place. My son is a 2026 kid, and I didn't see one coach/scout at any place we played including U-High. I also did not see any LSU coaches at the opening ceremonies at the Box. That doesn't mean they weren't there in a suit or something along those lines, but they were not out and about talking to anyone.

I'm guessing someone was on site. I wonder if they were running trackman for these tournaments. I'm guessing yes, otherwise why host the games in the first place.
