I'm with you, Wild. I keep up with FB recruiting but I don't put my emotions into it.

And it just so happens we now have a baseball coach that'll keep us competitive year in year out. It's easier to get excited over!

His last name is Milam not Milan by the way.

Arm is fine for SS. 84mph as taken by perfect game in 2022. League average for mlb SS is about 85mph. Some very good MLB SS throw way below that.

only lost catcher Mitchell out of the entire class that is amazing!

The only thing amazing was that we managed to get Cameron Johnson. It wasn't a star studded class like last year or next year. Lape and Anderson both had TJ which helped. We did a good job with Brown, Larson and Milan keeping those but none of them were too surprising.

It will be interesting to see what Johnson does his freshmen year.

Got some high expectations for Derrick Mitchell.

So do I. You can tell him and his dad put plenty hours into that swing.

I was surprised more people weren't bringing him up in that draft thread.

Does Seo have the bat to stick at 2B or he is just a pitching prospect now?

would be nice to flip his brother from Vandy.. he is a year younger iirc

Look at that movement. Holy shite.

watch the highlights of Milam on page 1. Ignore the fact he has a throwing error and two fielding errors in less than one minute of film. He takes three hops and a full arm swing to get to first. Then watch Lape and it is quite different.

I'm sure he can handle SS but I'm sticking with the arm best suited for 2B.

So little info to go on right now. It's going to be wait and see with all these freshmen.

Lape has one of the best arms in this class.

Milam likely 2B to start because they will want to get his bat in the lineup. I don’t really want any Freshman playing SS

That video is rough but it looks like he knows he’s being radar’d. Trying to get a good gun reading. I’ve read reports on in-game action with guys I respect saying he can play SS.

I'd like to see Guidry come back with some weight on him. Otherwise, I think Braswell will be hard to beat out of SS. Guidry and the rest will be competing for the 2B job, which may even end up having competition from Pearson and/or Neal. Crazy that we've hardly had any options in the infield for years, and now we have so many options to sort through.

Is Lape even an option in 2024? I thought he was having surgery a couple of months ago and planning to redshirt.

I'm pretty sure Project said Lape is out for 2024.

I heard the Jay Johnson interview with Michael Cauble last week and I THINK Johnson said he wanted Guidry to add 15lbs. I'm not 100% certain it was the Johnson interview. It could have been one of the media podcasts.

He’s definitely stated that they’re trying to get Guidry to gain 15 pounds this offseason

well yea he is 74" tall. they want him as close to that magic 2.75X number as they can get him while maintaining his mobility and speed.

right now he is at a huge risk of injury and is leaving tons of potential for velo both on the mound, exit velo at the plate and infield velo on the table.

they are trying to get him to 190 this year and then around 200 for junior year. avg at mlb level for pitcher is 2.81 x height in inches. there is a reason for that. shortstop is 2.66 which for guidry would be at the 196 range.

That video is also from well over a year ago. By the time he's matured a little into his senior year and had a fall in a college S&C/throwing program. I'll bet he looks a little different almost two years down the line. Just for reference.

William Schmidt from Catholic High has backed off his commitment from MS St. I assume he's in the P&G soon.

uhh Moffett hit 101 last night. Sat 96-98 and hit 100 multiple times.

1 HBP, 1 ROE, 1 walk, then 3 straight K's lol and got the save.

Control wasn't where it has been, a little wild, but he sure can light that gun up. First time all summer that he threw exclusively fast balls.
