Yea, I would imagine 1-1 of the draft will be Dollander, Crews, or Jacob Gonzales. All depends on what the team with 1-1 needs.

His offensive numbers took a pretty big dip last year and his career fielding percentage is marginally better than jordan thompson's(.935 to .920) after Thompson had a historically bad fielding year last year.
In fact, Thompson had a higher fielding percentage than Gonzales in their freshman seasons.
Not trying to argue that JT is on par with Gonzales, just that Gonzales doesn't really stick out as a first overall pick to me, or really anything close to it.

I didn't realize that Grant Taylor was draft eligible. That kinda sucks. We really need him, Hurd, and Shores (plus Noot if he materializes) in 2024 with all the other guys who will be leaving. That kinda makes me hope he doesn't jump the Skenes/Hurd/Floyd/Little/Money group this year...

I have to disagree with you here. He is a special ball player. The amount of contact he makes with the pop he has is special. I think he had an OPS of over 1.0 in both his seasons so far and hasn't had a season with a ton of Ks.
Defensively he may end up moving over to 3B at the pro level.
I think overall scouts see the potential and how his upside can be. That is what keeps him at the top of most lists. He can swing it.
All that said, he isn't as special as Crews. I would expect Crews to go 1-1 if a team wants a bat and Dollander to go 1-1 if a team wants an arm.

That Tennessee series, especially the Friday game, is going to get a ton of coverage from ESPN. And you can guarantee they'll have their draft guy doing live hits during the game.
Crews, Skenes, Dollander, Ahuna, etc for 2023
Tanks, Blake Burke for 2024
It will be the baseball version of the 2011 and 2019 LSU-Alabama games.

Absolutely, that weekend will be really fun.
It will definitely have post season vibes. Very easily could be a 1 vs 2 ranked matchup with heavy star power like you mentioned.

We did get a commit. Our second 2027 commit. Devyn Downs from Sterlington. Infielder and pitcher.
That’s 3 pitchers all working out of Dbat in Monroe.

Matt Hoag, another guy that seemed like a staff target, committed to Florida State

Hunt Palmer is now a staff member at On3. Doesn’t seem like we’re going to get much recruiting info from him but he’s going to write a couple columns during the fall and then weekly during the season.
Another good reason to sign up imo

On a similar note David Folse isn’t writing for 247 anymore. He’s doing stuff for Anthony Ranaudo’s site. I’m guessing that means no paywall but I’m not sure.
ETA: I will probably sign up for On3 now

Only a dollar for the first year. It’s definitely worth that

Landon Victorian has set a commitment date for November 2nd
Posted on 10/30/22 at 9:40 am to BayTiger13
I agree with you Gonzalez is a special talent and has potential that scouts like. If Crews has his usual good season then he will go top 3. Like you said it’s a matter of teams need at that point. To be honest Crews hasn’t been tearing it up over summer and fall at the plate.

I think Crews’ only threat at 1.1 is Dollander or an emerging HS kid like max Clark, Walker Jenkins or mcgongigle. Also would keep an eye on Waldrep, the usm RP who is now at FL to make a jump if he performs well in the SEC.

anyone got a read on what Landon Victorian will do?

I also think it might have been said in here but Konnor Griffin will be taking his OV to LSU this weekend

He has an unofficial visit scheduled at LSU for the Alabama game

So what you're saying is it would pretty awkward for him to commit anywhere but LSU on Wednesday if hes coming here Saturday

It's always going to be 50/50 with a kid like this. Get him to commit then it's 50/50 to keep him MLB, but at least he's committed.
