Not yet at least. I wonder if they do some more filtering after they see them in person

They're going to have to. We're around 50 right now depending on what a few guys with COVID years do. And they need to get to 38.
There was previously an allowance for guys taking a medical redshirt, so Travinski may fit that and not count against the 38.
ETA: There was also a waiver from roster caps for guys using the COVID year, but I don't know if that is still in place. Fontenot and Hilliard (and Vietmeier and B Doughty, who we haven't heard decisions on) could possibly not count against the 38.
Also, I know this came up in an interview with him, but I don't know if it was reported otherwise, but Trey Shaffer won't be at LSU until after the fall semester. He's got to graduate from SELU first and that's when he's scheduled to do that.
ETAA: Johnson posted a video of the pitchers in the weight room. I could recognize Bollman and Hasty. The video moved quick, but I think I may have seen Vietmeier.
Also, some of the incoming guys put their numbers in their Twitter Bios. Bollman #0, Holt #1, Jobert #6.

Happy to see Jobert is still on the team!

Yeah, Vietmeier was in the video as the camera began to turn and he was walking past in his big head band he wears. I was surprised to see him as I didn’t think he was coming back.

I thought the roster could be at 40 this year. Is it 38 or 40?
Posted on 8/23/21 at 9:07 pm to Naptime
It is, I was mistaken. It’s 40, 38, then 35. I skipped a year.

Even at 40, that’s a lot of cuts to be made. I like the competition

Some more newcomer jersey numbers for anyone interested:
Dawson Gause 23
Grant Fontenot 40
Josh Pearson 39
Riley Cooper 38

Wyatt Wiatrek has decommitted from LSU.
ETA: Just in general around the country there seems to be a lot of movement in the 2022 class, more so than I remember in other classes. I think the high profile coaching changes have something to do with that, but also I think these were some of the first few classes where guys were starting to commit when they were in 8th grade and shite and now that it's getting closer to the end of the process they realize circumstances have changed.

It looks like Bryce Navarre is no longer committed either.

I also think that it’s reasonable to consider that Coach Johnson’s evaluations of players may not align with those of the previous staff.
Conceivably, he may have his own ideas about some of these kids and how they fit into his program. That might be part of it as well.
Thanks for your work on this thread.

In what will shock probably zero people, Laviolette committed to A&M tonight.

. I think it’s safe to assume this kid is headed to A&m too. Schloss working those in state kids

What’s the word on his decommitment? Was he making it obvious that he was just using college as a leverage for the draft?

No. He’s following Nolan Cain and staying in Texas. I don’t know where this narrative about the draft started as far as why guys are decommitting. It’s not really any different than us pulling former Arizona commits.

They had a big event this past weekend. They gotten a flurry of commits, and they’re all tweeting out pictures in A&M uniforms similar to football recruiting.
I can’t say I’m a huge fan of baseball recruiting going the direction of football recruiting, but my opinion isn’t of any consequence.

That stings a little. He’s originally from Louisiana.

In this case, it’s probably more a matter of he will end playing closer to home if he even makes it to college. I don’t think he does.
As I said.
I doubt he ends up playing college ball though.
