Will be a good problem to have for sure. Plenty options to make the best lineup possible. Especially if they end up adding more from the portal.

Big entrance to the portal today.
SS Maui Ahuna from Kansas. Hawaii native.
Hit .396 with 16 doubles, 4 triples, 8 homers, and 48 RBIs this year. Sophomore.

Jay does Follow him
It might be from recruiting him at Arizona but it looks to be a relationship is there

So your saying he followed him While he was at Kansas?
Getting him and Keaschall would be huge

He just started following him today, presumably after he hit the portal
Posted on 5/23/22 at 12:02 pm to ProjectP2294
Just saw he entered the portal and looked up his stats.
Now I’m not saying we need a new SS, but that would be a mighty fine get in the portal.

How do you tell it’s a new follow, p
I know they used to be listed at the top. But not anymore on my end

I obsessively check their followers multiple times a day (I'm not proud of it), so I know where to scroll to in order to see the new names. Just for him and Jason Kelly, I don't know for others.

We need portal infielders, preferably that can play SS.
Him and Keaschall would both be great pick ups.

They absolutely need SS insurance, on top of an increased devotion to improving infield defense

If we are able to get him, I would expect Thompson to slide to 2nd and then the competition would be 3rd with a new comer of Romero or Guidry or Dugas if he returns for another season.

Agreed, his fielding percentage would fit in this year. Would be nice if he is willing to try 2nd or 3rd and for insurance purposes.

Project, do you know the progress of Connor Simon and his TJ surgery? And where do they see him playing? I thought he was at LSU as a potential SS. Also, do you see Holt and Safford contributing in any way?
Posted on 5/23/22 at 12:58 pm to Superbonics
Simon did not have TJ.

I've asked on here about Simon but haven't gotten an answer on his progress.
It's tough to say anyone will never contribute, because development isn't linear. Guys can progress seemingly out of nowhere. I'm wondering if those guys redshirted since they didn't play very much at all and not at all near the end of the season.

With the way the rosters are jamming up with extra eligibility from covid and depending on the size of signing class from high school and if any transfers come in, they will have some guys that won't have much of a choice but to leave I think.

There's a lot of interesting developments to watch over the off-season as far as position groups but infield and catcher are the 2 biggest storylines depending on the draft.
If you get Guidry and Romero to campus you will have (expected return) of
Cranford
Safford
Holt
Simon
Guidry
Romero
Merrifield
Thompson
(Transfer)
(Transfer)
I have to think based on numbers that 2-3 of these guys will be headed elsewhere but like Project said, development is not linear. One of these guys could make a Kramer Robertson leap but who knows.
