Doesn’t appear to be a bozo poster but a quick scroll of his posts, doesn’t seem to be a sources guy
So who knows

They haven’t announced but one signing so far. It’s possible but I’m wary.

I hope it isn't true. Jay said Neal and Noot had been on campus at the facility training, and Young had been around campus getting classes squared away. He admitted that doesn't always mean much, but it's better than not having seen or heard from them.

That guy could be full of it about Noot signing (the timing does seem odd), but it is becoming a more likely result. The Brewers saved $600k on their first pick alone and look to be able to save on most - if not every single one - of their remaining top 10 round picks. Not much for them to spend on in rounds 11-20 outside of Neal and Noot either.

I’m sure he believes what he’s saying, the question is how reliable the person is who gave him the information.

Well, at the very least, Neal has said he is not signing.
Would suck to lose Noot, but Neal will be a Tiger.

Jay was extremely aggressive recruiting him. Called him in airport. Told him first time they talked he was the guy he wanted to build program around.
Getting it back to 13k in Alex box is his goal. Dude is eat up with LSU.
Comfy at 3b, ss and 2b. Lot of respect for JT and expects a great season for him this coming year.
Going to pitch as well. Up to 95 MPH. Loves to close a game as a pitcher.
Shut down his draft process after mlb combine.
Nuss is his cousin, love him. That’s my boy. Good friends with bech and Maason smith.
Day 1 they made a group chat as a class goal was to win a natty. Really close group.
He’s rather have a lot of studs around him competing for time than having a lot of duds around him and be the savior. Never wanted a job to be handed to him. Not like that.
Day 1 of draft his number was 2.7 mil. If he fell out of day 1 his number was 3.2 mil. Told multiple teams no of 2-2.2 mil offers
Never seen himself any less than being the starting ss at lsu and a big league ss
OVERALL A FREAKING IMPRESSIVE YOUNG MAN. GUY HAS SOME REAL CONFIDENCE ABOUT HIM.

If they had an actual plan to sign Noot, why would they have drafted him in the 17th rather than the 11th? That doesn’t mean they won’t sign him, only that I think they still have to work through a lot of other picks to get there. Maybe they already have, who knows.

If Noot does sign, I can’t wait to see the number because there’s no way he didn’t get offered $1m + on day 2 and got more than that in the 19th round. I gotta think if he was that dead set on starting his pro career there would’ve been a team to meet his number much earlier
Posted on 7/25/22 at 10:43 pm to ccarrone0313
If he got 1mil+ in the 19th round that would be unprecedented. The most I’ve ever seen is 500-600k and that is rare. If that is the case that is just bad luck on our end but we will be fine.

Looking at the draft spots, Milwaukee can realistically have $1 mil plus to offer. If they sign all the rest of their top 10 for slot value they will be left with 1.5mil. They won't sign all those picks for slot value so they can realistically have 1.8-2mil to work on other picks rounds 11-20. Plus they can go over their bonus pool 5% and pay the small penalty fee on doing that.
I wouldn't expect Noot to fly to be on LSU campus if he knows he would possibly drop his number a good bit. So I think the dude on the rant is spreading false information, or the Brewers have an idea of what they will be signing and now has thrown a good bit to Noot.

They also took about 5 or 6 guys similar to Noot and they took them much earlier. Like I said before, I feel like Noot or Neal would be down the line on guys they target with overslot money. Their 12th and 13th round guy are HS prospects they mentioned they would go after

Agreed, I'm not biting on the rumor yet. Just throwing out the number it seems like they will be left with. Not out of the possibility they can go after 1 of the guys you mentioned and also Noot. Maybe the other guy turned them down on their offer. Depending on other signing they can possibly get both of them 1.2 mil.
Also, the guy on the rant can very well be spreading a false rumor. I'm not on board with believing it just yet.

Jay was just on a show this morning and mentioned Noot as a guy he signed coming to LSU (among others), so if Noot signed last night he apparently didnt tell coach yet.

This thread is awesome.

Ehh, kinda
He also said he is looking fwd. to the MLB signing deadline so they can move on

Yeah there was nothing definitive to glean from that interview imo
Posted on 7/26/22 at 8:35 am to LSU=Champions
Even if Jay KNEW Noot was gone as of that interview, there would be no reason for him to change the tone of his voice (which was quite giddy by Jay’s standards) given how successful we were in the draft regardless of Noot.
