Yea, that always seemed like a pipe dream from the first time it was mentioned.

No. Austin Nola . Austin Nola was said be the highest make up guy the Mariners exec who signed him had ever encountered. Crawford is getting those kinds of comments.

Lefty topping out at 100

I guess the 5 round 2020 draft kept him from going pro out of HS

Need to do more 5 round drafts. Seems to work out well for LSU.

Right. Aaron's is probably pretty high as well.

But it's off field, coachability, teammate, etc. All that intangible stuff that they try to tangibly rate.

Knowing Austin Nola, I do not see how anyone is a higher character guy than him.

It should be noted who is NOT in the portal.

Jobert, Thompson, Hellmers, Bollman, Merrifield, G. Fontenot, Travinski.

That’s essentially what the Mariners exec said.

Something I also found interesting is comparing the hitting stats of Jobert and Travinski.

Jobert BA .246 OB% .354 HR 18 SLG% .578
Travinski BA .242 OB% .356 HR 6 SLG% .581

Travinski would have had slightly over 18 HRs with the same amount of bats.

I think there was a tempation to DH Jobert because he would put up some incredible games but Travinski was actually more consistent with comparable stats.

Both Skenes and Waldrep made the USA team, meaning we'll have to wait a little longer on them, at least Skenes for sure

Just asked this question in another place; but thought I might also get some good answers here from people who follow it more closely.

But, does anyone have any idea why Tommy "Tanks" White wasn't invited to tryout/play for Team USA?

Crews and Berry were both invited last year as freshmen all-americans; so you'd think with the type season White had that he would've been a sure bet to be invited.

No clue what the answer is, but he's not playing summer ball right now either. May be nursing a minor injury or just taking the summer off to train?

You have to say Travinski would have projected to hit 18 hr with thense amount of at bats. There is no guarantee with that many at bats or even more he would have gotten to that total.

Yeah, this thread will only last for this one recruiting cycle. I'll have to start a new one at the beginning of August.
